We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenna Hazelwood and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jenna, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I am a creature of habit. I absolutely hate change. The need and want to change has always been what I avoid. Until recently have I craved to be different. In every little thing I do there is a quirky, unexplained reason behind it.

The ability to take a risk is often the most intimidating experience someone else will ever encounter with another person. It’s the way a person carries themselves or the way their demeanor changes when they see their self worth. The risk to better your career might lead to failure, but what if it doesn’t? What if taking a risk is what you needed? What if taking a risk by snapping photos and making short films gives you joy and hope? This risk is what the heart truly longs for.

I gave up multiple relationships and risked the old with exchange for the new. I took a risk on my career in NYC knowing multiple Artist or CEOs may never see what I see in myself.

I’ve learned that my career is always worth taking a risk over. My career gives me a better life. My life is filled with joy and abundance because of my career. As long as I believe in myself, my career is always worth taking a risk for.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
If I listed my resumé as a creative on this interview it would be at least ten minutes long to read. I was told to find my niche in photography. If you didn’t know what having a niche was, it’s focusing on one specific area in which you find your talent. As a photographer I can’t do this, I get burnt out. You shouldn’t limit yourself in just one area. Creators create without realizing they are creating. We create the energy, the vibe, the mood, and the eye. I create and produce events, weddings, and everyday lifestyles.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My soul lies inside a museum or national park. You can begin with Grand Central Station then work your way to Times Square. You can hop on a train and be in Dumbo Brooklyn to overlook the Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge. These are the places I would adventure to again and again.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I must recognize that my success and where I am in life is because of my mentorship. The guidance from this creative pushes me out of my comfort zone. Their advice has given me a way of breaking out of mental blocks and realizing my full potential.
