We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Dominguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want people to remember my page as a platform that was created not only to share what is going on in the rock ‘n’ roll scene in the valley but as a place where local bands can get the word out about their music, shows, merch etc. I want to know that I was able to help local musicians at least a little bit. In the age of social media a simple share could help someone so much.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets my page apart from other pages that do similar show promotions is that along side the big shows that are being announced I do my best to promote a lot of the local talent that is playing. Not a lot people care to dig deep to find the local bands flyers to see where they are playing. It makes me so happy that I’m able to use my platform to do that. I’m proud that my page has come as far as it has with just me running it. It definitely hasn’t been easy to do it. Running the instagram page plus trying to work on a website, merch and setting up band interviews is not something everyone wants to do on their own but I know eventually this hard work will pay off. Some lessons I’ve learned is to just take the risk, the worst anyone can tell you is no. What I want people to know about my story is that your hard work will pay off, trust me. I’ve been working on page for over 3 years now, but I’ve already gotten to do so many cool things and have been put in the path of some amazing people, don’t let your passion die out.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I spend most of my time in Downtown Phoenix so I would definitely hit up some spots down there! I would take them to grab some delicious Tata’s tacos at Paz Cantina or pizza at Ziggys . We can catch a show over at the Van Buren and then walk over for drinks at Crescent Ballroom!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It’s hard to narrow it down besides my friends and family there have been lots of local bands I would like to thank especially those who have taken time to share my page and I was grateful enough to interview! Those bands include Varkan, The Black Market Brigade, Zombeast, Calabrese and Shadow Guilt!
