Meet Jennifer Sparveri | Owner Jennifer André Salon

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Sparveri and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I founded Jennifer André while recovering from back surgery—a moment that forced me to slow down and take a hard look at the pace I’d been keeping. Years of traveling the world as an educator for Paul Mitchell had been an incredible chapter, but the constant movement was taking a toll on my body and my life. Opening a 1,400-square-foot salon became my way of grounding myself, shifting direction, and building something meaningful and sustainable.
Teaching has always been at the heart of who I am, so I built my team the same way I built my own career: from the ground up. I brought in fresh talent straight from beauty school and poured into them the knowledge, discipline, and passion that had shaped me. Together, we created a space rooted in education, growth, and the belief that great hair starts with great mentorship.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When you truly love what you do, it never feels like work—and that’s exactly why I chose the beauty industry. From the very beginning, I understood that perfect practice makes perfect. I spent countless hours working on friends, family, and mannequins, honing every skill until it became instinct.
Consistency has always been my secret weapon—not just for mastering technique, but for building trust. Clients return when they know they can rely on you, your timing, and your results. Over the years, I’ve learned that consistency paired with urgency is a game-changer. Getting clients in as soon as possible for their events isn’t just great service—it’s part of creating an elevated, memorable experience.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first place I take visitors is always Sedona or the Flagstaff area—two of Arizona’s most stunning destinations. Depending on the time of year, there are incredible events, breathtaking hikes, and plenty of great spots to eat, sip, and explore. It’s the perfect way to show off the beauty and energy of northern Arizona.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Over the past 30 years in this industry, I’ve been fortunate to learn from incredible mentors and dive into countless books—but the greatest teachers I’ve ever had are my clients. They’ve trusted me enough to let me explore new techniques, experiment with fresh ideas, and refine my craft with every visit. They’ve shown up year after year—through the pandemic, through life’s storms, and on the most beautiful days—always giving me the opportunity to grow.
My clients are the true heroes behind who I am as a stylist, a salon owner, and a human being. Everything I’ve learned, everything I’ve created, and everything I continue to become is because of them.
