Meet Jeremy “Jay” Cash | Gym Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremy “Jay” Cash and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeremy “Jay”, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson I’ve learned in business is that not everyone will see your vision. There will always be the naysayers and doubters but thats just white noise. The only person who has to believe is YOU!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the new owner of a training facility in North Scottsdale called Maximum Fitness and an athletic recovery center called Kaizen Health and Wellness. Becoming a gym owner was a difficult task to undergo as I purchased the gym in the middle of a pandemic, a time where gyms weren’t doing well and most were going out of business. But once I saw the gym and all of it’s potential, I knew it would be successful. Having the background as both a former collegiate and professional athlete adds a level of significance to the gym. Once people step into the facility, they are mentally and physically prepared to train hard.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely have to take them to Maya Day and Nightclub and the W Hotel’s Cottontail Lounge. Both places are huge draws for out of town visitors who are looking to blow off some steam and have a good time!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My coaches and the athletic support staff at Duke University have always been a contributing factor in helping me achieve the level of success that I have thus far in life. When I decided to transfer from The Ohio State University in 2012, everyone welcomed me to Durham with open arms. My coaches constantly pushed me to want more for myself and helped me understand that football was only a small part of my life and that it wasn’t guaranteed. The principles instilled in me while I was a student-athlete at Duke University will stay with me forever. They have taught me to be a better man.
