We had the good fortune of connecting with Jesse Moreng and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jesse, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Optimyze mind body breath was started by myself and co founder Michael Roviello. We started Optimyze to empower people to take control of their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health through natural methods. Our world and communities are suffering from chronic illness and have in large part delegated their health to others instead of taking charge of it themselves. Auto immune disease, cancer, heart disease and obesity has become the new normal but this does not have to be the way. Nature’s elements has answers for us. We can utilize natural and simple therapies to build resiliency and connection in our human beings. Optimyze was Phoenix’s first human optimization center that offers affordable access to life changing therapies and professional guidance on how to use them. As we as a world start taking charge of our own health we can have a ripple effect and change the broken sick care system that has resulted in dismal health results. Optimyze is a place not just about therapies but about an experience and connecting with other community members whom support one another.
What should our readers know about your business?
My passion for health and wellness began with a focus in sports performance in the martial arts world however my continued education in this area opened my world to the non physical aspects of my own health that were lacking. The life changing impact that natural therapies had in my life and specifically in my mental and spiritual health inspired me to provide natures therapies to others. My journey becoming an instructor under Wim Hof teaching the Wim Hof Method and seeing so many with auto immune disorders and other illnesses build their own human capability of increased resilience lead me to open up Optimyze with Michael Roviello. We are much different than most other wellness or recovery centers. We aren’t focused on the physical but put as much emphasis into mental, emotional, and spiritual health and the intention that is used when utilizing the therapies at our center. Our community environment is something that is very unique. Our guidance and support is also unique. Our mission of empowering others in all aspects of their health comes through in each and every team members and our members feel that. We started Optimyze to make a difference and be the change. These therapies and the way people can utilized them combined with the medicine of connecting with others sets us apart. Its not necessarily about what you do but instead just as much about how you do it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would likely start our day hiking squaw peak or pick another trail then head to Optimyze and get in a 70 minute session with 20 minute compression therapy, 20 minute infrared sauna, hot and cold water therapy and then finish with some red light therapy all while connecting to some amazing people and community. We might go to unfair advantage in Tempe for some functional training. Afterwards stop for some good food at Flower child. We might hang by my pool or go to a local spa. Dinner at buck n rider, true food or buy some fresh fish, grass fed organic meat and raw milk from the Arcadia meat market.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to the family and friends who have shown me their struggles and vulnerability. A handful of these inspirations include my late brother, Jimmy Moreng who passed 4 years ago at 43 years young. Jimmy was an amazing older brother whos love and gentleness shined through to others his entire life. His journey through mental and physical illness and lack of success with pharmaceuticals has served as a huge inspiration for my passion to help others empower themselves and utilize nature’s tools. The late Kurt Bazilus who was a friend and co founder of Optimyze also served as a massive inspiration. His unexpected death and life lives on in Optimyze. Kurts true passion was providing dentistry to underserved communities throughout the world. Dr. Bazilus has lead and has been a part of numerous dental missions providing charitable dentistry in Honduras, Belize, Veracruz, Mexico and Trinidad. Optimyze co founder, my friend and business partner Michael Roviello is such an honorable leader in the community and continues to inspire my journey and make the success and mission of Optimyze continue. My children Cash and Stella serve as my teachers of letting go and in love. To my parents Pamela and James Moreng for everything they have done in doing their best and showing me all that love along the way. Lastly I want to thank everyone who speaks their truth and stands up for what they believe in.
