We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Brennan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, can you talk to us about the impact the Covid-19 Crisis has had on your business.
The Covid-19 pandemic has drastically affected my business. I am a freelance makeup and hair artist that travels on location for your event and has a in home studio. The Covid-19 crisis has forced many events to cancel or postpone, so the need for beauty services has been non existent. I am looking forward to our “new normal” when the restrictions are lifted. I miss meeting new people, being part of their special events, and making people feel their best. I also want all my clients to know that I am up to date on the all the sanitation procedures so you can feel comfortable when you come back and get your beauty services done.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am the owner of Jessica Brennan Beauty LLC. I have a home studio and also travel on location for makeup and hair styling. I love getting to work on set for photoshoots, or in the the bridal suite getting the bridal ready for a wedding, and helping people feel beautiful and special for any event. I believe what sets me apart from the rest is that I am a specialist in subtle transformations, helping women draw out the best version of their own natural complexion and features. I prefer classic, traditional, tried and true technique to achieve modern, clean, picture perfect looks. I have over ten years of experience in many aspects of the beauty industry, and the versatility to ensure the best look for the individual. My experience in both makeup and hairstyling for bridal, engagement, special events, fitness, stage, editorial, and commercial is what helps me stand apart. To get where I am today (professionally speaking), is a lot of hard work, consistency, grit and patience. It was not easy. I started out just doing makeup and hairstyling on friends and and family for free. I kept learning and attending workshops. I would reach out to people and see if they needed any services for a low rate. I started working backstage at fitness/bodybuilding shows. I researched the industry and looked for any way I could increase my clientele. I networked with people and I eventually built up a good word-of-mouth following. A lesson that I learned along the way is that you can’t have it all overnight. You really have to hustle and keep your name in peoples mind, stay consistent and again have patience. If you say you will do something you have to deliver. I would like everyone to know that my brand is an extension of me. I have worked very hard to stay current on the trends. I take pride in the service that I provide. When you sit in my chair you are getting a luxury experience. Whether you get your makeup, hair, or both done by me I want you to feel special, important, and beautiful. I love bringing out the natural beauty of my clients.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I was trying to show someone a great time here in Arizona I would start by taking them to get a luxury spa treatment(s). I love the Montelucia Resort and Spa in Paradise Valley. The views are incredible and the spa is top notch. We would spend some time in Scottsdale for the eats and drinks and probably go see a few live bands. I also love downtown Gilbert and Chandler. You can’t go wrong with any of the restaurants or bars there.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
