We had the good fortune of connecting with Jetty Nieuwenhuis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jetty, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my brand is being true. True + Jetty = Trujetty. And there is my success, in an often fake social media world. When starting my brand (as a wellness coach/personal trainer 3 years ago, it was certainly a lot of “happiness” in Instaworld. And although I am mostly happy now, I am not every day, and certainly, in the past, I had my days of depression together with invisible illnesses like Bulimia and Lyme disease. I am always sharing my truth at the moment, and that truth is changing as I am evolving. I find it important that anyone can share their truth without shame or guilt. And I pair this truth with fashion and beauty.

A lot of people have sensed this “fake” and are ready for real stories, and truths.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I would call myself a creative as a content creator. Posing as a model. I am also a certified makeup artist and image stylist. So I use that all in creating my content for my brand. Also, I am writing every piece of the content myself. Creating ideas and editing my Reels and Tiktok videos. It was certainly not easy to get where I am today, having the recognition and brand partnerships. I hustled a lot up until now, and I do believe you need to do so. I have gotten a bit smarter in working and playing time. I did early on hire people to help me in the things I wasn’t as good at so that I could spend time on the things that matter most. I am most proud that I have achieved all this in midlife, as I am 50. And I believe that going with time and staying on top of new trends will help me feel young. I am also proud that I share my most vulnerable stuff that’s going on in my life, mostly from my dysfunctional past.
When you are in the public eye you have to grow a strong and thick skin, I do that by working with mentors, and healing the problems from my past. That unfortunately sometimes comes with shedding some people, but it’s necessary because they don’t always want what I want for me. It helps me stay in my lane, and be hyper-focused. Care less what others think of me because they think something anyways.

My most important message is that I want women to put on their pumps and go after what they want. I want them to know that they are the creator of their own life. (any gender of course) Mine didn’t start entitled, but my life is pretty ok now. I came out of zombie-mode, and so can they. You have to really learn to believe in yourself no matter what others say.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would love to meet my best friend in Canmore, AB, Canada. The Rockies. It’s the Kitzbuel of Canada, the Aspen of Canada (without the luxury stores, although I love luxury) I live here since 2020, half of my week mostly.

I would take her 1 day to Athletic Evolution in the morning for a workout. After that a coffee and lounging at Eclipse Coffee roasters downtown. Relaxed afternoon, maybe get a beauty treatment in a salon I love.

Then have dinner at Blake restaurant, it’s an old garage from origin, with huge garage door windows and you have an astonishing view of the mountains, and great food, they brew their own beer, although I prefer wine! A good New Zealand Sauv Blanc is always enjoyed.

In winter, we have several ski areas with the best snow in the world and the longest season. Sunshine Village, Lake Louise, and Kananaskis to name a few. We would go to Lake Louise for the day or a few days to ski. We can actually go to all different resorts and try them all.

In summer of course there are beautiful hiking trails, but watch out for the wildlife!
The gondola at Sunshine Village takes you up high even in summer. And….even on July 1st Canada Day we could go summer skiing there!

And then we would do a day strolling through Banff, (crowded by Aussies and New Zealanders) do a bit of shopping and have a Spa day there. Enjoying some hot chocolate with Bayleys.

The vibes are pretty laid back and relaxed here,
And there is for anyone something. The athletes find what they are looking for (also olympic team Canada). We have all accommodations possible. But also the party people can be pleased.

Me and my friend would be somewhere in the middle. A bit of active, and a bit of party.
As with anything in life I like balance.

And the views here are astonishing. The ski areas are wide and not too crowded.

We will have the best time!
I actually can’t wait!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The support comes from many beautiful people in this world. But if I have to mention someone that pushed me to live life (run my brand) on my terms, my rules, it will be Jackie McDonald, Thejackiemcdonald. She helped me become the woman I am today, and she helps many other women to be brave and bold.
