We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Lester and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
JL Fitness is a personal training brand that strives to help individuals feel better about themselves through fitness and wellness training. As a personal trainer, I focus on bringing as much joy and motivation to all my clients. Working out to most people doesn’t sound fun, however for me I live by it. Being physically fit is what keeps me going every day, sort of a form of meditation. Anyone can work out; it is whether you want to do it. That is where I come in, providing information, inspiration, and encouragement for individual growth and become more physically and mentally fit.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
JL Fitness is a work in progress, still learning and growing every day. I started this journey in 2020, at a time that I was not in the best place mentally. I started to focus back on training, becoming stronger and more mentally tough. I saw my body transform quickly and was getting in the best shape I have ever been in. This was the spark that I needed to get my training certification and take this seriously as a profession.

I started working in a box gym to learn and hone- in my craft/ training style. After being there for a little over a year, I thought it was time for me to venture out on my own. I have been slowly growing my clientele and I am looking forward to sharing my passion for fitness with others that need some guidance and motivation.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would have to start with some week day events. First we have to check out the best gym in Scottsdale, 5 Star fitness!

Followed by a stop at D’lite or Berry Divine for a quick breakfast.

Drive to downtown Phoenix to Roosevelt Row to look at Art and go to some local bars/ shops. It’s definitely an area that has a lot of culture and great food.

Now for the weekend, have to hit up a hike, my favorite spot is Toms Thumb. Golf is always another option for me, recently loving Camelback Golf Club at the moment.

Next since it is Football season, must have to go to an ASU tailgate and check out the bars on mill ave. before the game.

Save the best for last my favorite lunch spot in AZ is Rehab Burger because of the sweet tots and the atmosphere.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There’s way too many people that have supported me on this journey to name. Past coworkers, coaches, friends but my family is who I would like to dedicate this to. Without their support I wouldn’t be here giving this interview. They have always been the one’s telling me to go for it and that they’re proud of who I’ve become. I can’t express the love I have for them enough, I’m extremely happy to have them in my corner.
