We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Louzek and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think risk taking is essential to everything. A quote I like to live by, and it may be a cliche quote but it’s very true is: “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”. There couldn’t be a more true way to go about things. I’ve taken plenty of risks when starting up my business, some have paid off and some haven’t, but in my opinion there’s no better way to learn than by doing.
If I didn’t take a risk to quit my job and pursue gaming, I wouldn’t be in the position I am now with the business, so again I think risk taking is essential.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is an esports organization. Not your traditional business, but it’s an industry that is taking off and starting to make a lot of noise around the world. What sets us apart is the employees we have, and the backgrounds of each and every one of them. We cover all avenues that you need, coming from player backgrounds, marketing directors, and partnership managers. All of which are huge to have in the gaming world to be able to sustain the right connections to grow, and be successful.
I’ve learned a lot of lessons along the journey, and still have a ton more to learn but I think the most important one is that you can’t succeed if you’re of afraid of taking a risk. Obviously other people probably have, but in my certain situation and this business structure, risk = reward.
Overcoming challenges in this business takes a lot of patience, and surrounding yourself with like minded people. If you aren’t surrounded by people with the same vision as you, things can go south very quickly.
I think one thing that I want people to know, not necessarily about my brand but about gaming in general, is that it’s not just a hobby anymore. Kids can make a good living doing something they love, just as they could being a professional athlete or an engineer etc. The times are changing, and I think my brand can help unite people around Arizona and even the world, into seeing that.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I think Arizona is a pretty unique place, and if someone was visiting you would have to take into account what they like doing. Personally, I would take them to a Phoenix Suns game to witness that atmosphere, and then probably top golf in Scottsdale and perhaps the casino right after that. One of the days you could dedicate to hiking Camelback mountain, and while in Scottsdale attend a great brunch restaurant called “OEB”.
I think if you enjoy golf as well, there are a ton of amazing courses all around the Valley and I would let my friend pick the one that seems the most appealing to them.
There’s plenty of other places to visit, and activities to do but personally I think those would be the main ones we would do. On top of that, just visit areas like downtown Gilbert, Mill Ave, and Old Town Scottsdale.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I think my wife deserves a lot of credit in my efforts so far. She allowed me to quit my job, pursue my dreams, and has been supportive from day 1. There’s been times where things haven’t looked that great, but the support never waivered and I think that is what has helped me to be able to get to the place we are right now. I also have my number 1 fan in my son, who loves everything I do and is a big part of my motivation to wake up each day and do my best to succeed for him.
