We had the good fortune of connecting with Joshua Francis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joshua, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want people to remember it was never about the attention or fame. It was about the love of the art, and the culture. It was about inspiring people like me to believe they can do it the legal way. It was about progressing and learning in life. Being someone people can look to for inspiration and guidance. It was always about the lasting legacy.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I been writing songs since age of 13, just over 15 years. I bring the pains and frustrations of life to the fore front. It was years without support or help. People doubted me daily. I moved across the country to expand my brand which was an experience all together. I started signing other artists to the label in 2020 and it has been pretty successful. I’m actually in the process of writing my 1st book. I’m about 50% of the way done. I also just started my apparel line for my record label merchandise. I’m excited for the future of my brand and everything that’s coming. Musically I have 2 projects of 12 songs done. I plan on flooding the internet all summer with content. I work hard, if i didn’t work I would be pretty lost in life. I’m just happy I made my work into a passion. Whatever your dream or passion, fight for it. Never let it go.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
To be honest I haven’t been anywhere. I’m either at work, at a friends house, or home working on building this brand. Sorry.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout to my mother and grandparents, for always being a listening ear and shoulder to cry on. Without them I wouldn’t be in this position, probably wouldn’t even be close.
