We had the good fortune of connecting with Julia Flores and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Julia, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I live by my habits- always striving for excellence, being punctual, never giving up, and following the Golden Rule. I really think these have helped me with my success. I give every client my all! I always try to put myself in a client’s shoes by thinking “If I were paying for this service, would I be happy?” or, “What would I expect from a service like this?” I feel that this thought process has helped me immensely to make sure my clients are happy and would recommend me to their friends or families.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Starting your own business is a wild ride- it’s fun, scary, and you feel incredible right after. But, man, is it worth it! I’ve never been happier or felt so fulfilled. I like to think Electric Beauty is different because I created it with the outcasts in mind. I’ve been in so many spas and beauty related businesses and felt almost out of place. I have tattoos, I’ve had crazy hair, piercings, all of that. Sometimes you get weird looks because it’s not the “typical” form of beauty. So it was important to me to create a safe place where anyone can come in for a beauty service with a feeling of belonging and no uneasiness and leave feeling amazing. If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to the city- the first thing we are doing? Going to Baja Cafe for some delicious breakfast! Following that up with a visit to 4th ave. There are so many great things to do down there. There’s amazing local shopping (Hello, Razorzedge!), food and drinks. I can not go down there without a trip to Che’s Lounge for a delicious drink followed up with Potato tacos at Surly Wench. There would definitely be a lot of motorcycle rides to Gates Pass, Mount Lemmon, and Bisbee as well.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a HUGE shoutout to Jackie Sterna. She never stops supporting my ideas. She is always there for encouragement, support, and help!
