We had the good fortune of connecting with Kathia Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kathia, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
As a parent I think one of the most important things I’ve done is to teach and show my daughter the importance of hard work amc dedication. And it’s through hard work and dedication that our dreams become a reality.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As you all know, during the 2020 pandemic shut down, all parties and social interactions were cancelled and shut down. Around the same time I was supposed to host a friend’s baby shower who then I moved the event to online. My friend ended up being admitted to the hospital and was unable to to see her family for quite some time. It was a very heartbreaking situation, And in order to spread some happiness and cheer to both her family and my friend I decided to make a balloon tower to deliver to her kids. My friend later sent me a picture and a video of her kids reaction to the balloon tower which I was able to watch and share with my daughter. Upon seeing how happy our balloon tower made them, it was my daughter Grace’s idea to start a business so we could then be able to make other kids happy. We believe everyone, especially kids should be celebrated, especially on their birthdays.

It definitely has not been an easy journey for our business and life, but it has been the most exciting and I am beyond thankful that I get to share this experience with my daughter.

The main lessons I’ve learned in starting a business is balance. Organizing that balance between running a business, being a wife, mom, homeschooling, and being a military & law enforcement family.

My goal in Grace Balloons is to bring happiness, and joy through all our events and celebrations. To meet new people, to create relationships within our community, to celebrate with friends and family, and for every kid to know that through hard work and dedication all their dreams and goals are possible!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’d start off by visiting and supporting local café shops. Our community in Rancho Sahuarita is one of the most beautiful places I’ve lived, I love giving a tour of the Rancho Sahuarita Clubhouse, which has a large water park and other fun amenities. We walk around the Rancho Sahuarita Lake. We would hangout and dine at both Mercado San Agustin, and La Encantada outdoor shopping center where we would also do some shopping. We’d hike up to Madera Canyon for some relaxing time in nature. Last but not least, we’d make a trip to visit and explore the Grand Canyon.

For me personally, the most fun and exciting places are local café shops, and being out in nature.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to my husband and family for always encouraging and being supportive of my creative ideas. A special shout out to my amazing daughter Grace, who was the inspiration and who’s idea was the main reason of Grace Balloons.
