Meet katie anderson | Fashion designer & founder of GARB./Wardrobe stylist & founder of ALIGN Styling: Soul & Style Transformation/ Self-love & Holistic Guide

We had the good fortune of connecting with katie anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi katie, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I look at taking risks as betting on myself! Risks are an opportunity to grow and learn, taking a chance for new opportunities for greater success! Taking risks has pushed me out of my comfort zone and challenged me to grow and evolve. It has helped me to develop a growth mindset; reenforcing my belief in myself and my abilities. Embracing risk has taught me resilience and perseverance. Taking risks has helped me to develop coping strategies and bounce back stronger from setbacks. Whatever the outcome, I look at it all as an opportunity to learn.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I possess multidimensional passions in life and my career. I have a background in real estate and have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. I am a Wardrobe Stylist, a Self-Love Guide, and a Fashion Designer. As the founder of GARB, a brand with a moto-inspired rocker-chic aesthetic, I curate unique fashion for the chic! The heart of my mission with Align Styling and GARB. is to empower women to embrace their authenticity and wholeheartedly love themselves. I enjoy helping clients look and feel their best while empowering them to know that they deserve to! I am writing a guidebook on the self-love journey and how to build confidence and embody self-love through one’s unique style. Launching my clothing brand is the embodiment of my self-love and expression, because pursuing your dreams and passions is self-love. It’s saying YES to yourself. I am also passionate about living a heart-centered life, spreading consciousness, and offer group and one-on-one holistic healing appointments.
I am most proud of creating a life I love. One of my favorite quotes is, “what you are not changing, you are choosing” Which requires radical honesty and taking responsibility. And when you realize that “I am responsible for my reactions and choices”, you can stand in your power to design your life. I want the world to know that love is the mission, and it starts within. The journey of self-love is the most important one that we take.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I love this part as I am thankful for so many people and groups along the way:
My parents, my children Jude and Koston, my partner Justin: for so much love and support.
The Foundress: a women’s business + connection + accountability community, monthly meetings and mastermind groups
Lindsey Schwartz with Powerhouse Women: for women who dream big, because you’re not meant to do life or business alone!

Haru and Hayra with the Kuntanawa.
