We had the good fortune of connecting with Katie Benford and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katie, what do you attribute your success to?
The single most important factor behind my success & all success, in my opinion, is your mindset. You can have all of the strategies, tools, etc, but if you don’t hold the belief that you can be successful, there is a slim chance you will achieve it. And there is an even slimmer chance that you will achieve and sustain success! This is because whatever is going on in our subconscious mind is what will happen in our physical reality every single time. We are all mirroring our internal representation out into our physical experience. So, when you believe you cannot become successful, your mind is only capable of picking up on information that is in alignment with that belief. Our minds are so powerful and I believe it’s a huge component that many new entrepreneurs in the online space miss. If you hold the belief that successful people are evil, you could bet that you will have a hard time receiving success. In order to change your beliefs surrounding success, you must pinpoint the reasons why you believe this to be true. Sometimes it comes from our parents, sometimes it comes from the media, but wherever you picked up the belief, you have to break it down and dismantle it. Ask questions such as, “Do I know any successful people who are very generous?” or “Have I ever succeeded at something in my life?” Odds are you will be able to answer yes to these questions, therefore you can begin breaking down the belief. Next, you need to rebuild the belief. You might say, “It is safe for me to be successful” or “The most successful I become, the more generous I can be”. Finally, it’s important to find proof of the new belief being true so you can begin integrating it into your subconscious. This is a very basic understanding of subconscious work but I firmly believe this has been the most important factor behind my success or anyone’s success for that matter!

What should our readers know about your business?
I’ve created a spiritual development brand, Blissing Out. Blissing Out is all about helping people step into the most blissed out version of themselves. I am currently working with spiritual womxn who are ready to transform their daily habits, their outlook on life & their confidence so they can manifest freedom, love & wealth. I believe what sets Blissing Out apart is my process in which I help women create more abundance in their lives. Because I specialize in Neurolinguistic programming, EFT & hypnotherapy, I am able to help these women create quick shifts in their life. Many times, it can take months or even years to transform a life, however, with these modalities, it is a much quicker process. I am most proud of the way I have transformed my own life because I truly believe in order to help others, you have to help yourself first. I got to where I am today by transforming my mindset honestly. I have done and continue to do a lot of work on my beliefs, my confidence & my daily habits and I believe this has contributed to my growing business. It has not always been easy however. I have had many times where I have felt like giving up or felt like what I was doing wasn’t good enough. I have had some dark times over the last year, but I’ve prevailed. One the biggest lessons I’ve learned is making success a non-negotiable. What I mean by this is not taking no for an answer. What this shift in my mindset has done is it has helped me remain hopeful in the dark times. When we make success a non-negotiable, we know it will happen eventually, which kind of takes the pressure off! What I want people to know about Blissing Out is it is a community where you can come to dream. And not only dream, but actually make those dreams a reality. Regardless of what those dreams are or how “crazy & unrealistic” they are, you are welcome in the Blissing Out Community always and we will make those your reality.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend visiting from Phoenix, I would definitely start by happy hour at The Americano in North Scottsdale. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Phoenix area. I would take them hiking at the McDowell Mountains & to OHSO for lunch afterwards. We would go shopping at Kierland and then check out some of the street art in downtown. I love also going to sporting events, so if there was a spring training game or something (if COVID was a thing of the past of course) I would take them there, too. Some of my favorite restaurants are: The Americano, Umami Sushi, Cien Agaves, Culinary Dropout, The Henry, The Main Ingredient, Sol Cantina & Pigtails at Desert Ridge!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout Kathrin Zenkina, aka Manifestation Babe. If it wasn’t for me discovering her podcast a few years ago, I wouldn’t have jumped back into manifestation or spirituality. She is a complete light in this world and she wants nothing but the best for her followers/students. I enrolled in her program Manifestation Babe Academy last April and my business has grown a crazy amount since then. I absolutely plan on taking her new MBA course later this year!
