We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaya Malone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kaya, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
A friend posted a quote on Instagram that’s stated “ everyday we get up to go work and build someone else’s dream “ and that really spoke to me. That quote right there ignited me to dig deeper into my passions and become my own boss. I knew nothing about starting a business but I kept my faith in God to guide me thought the process.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a full time RDA (registered dental assistant) of a little over 4 years. Best part of my job is being apart of creating New smiles for my patients. It can definitely be challenge working in such a fast past environment as well as assuring quality care, but I love what I do so it makes all of it worth it. I have had my bumps in the road with trying to balance my personal life, career and business, but I never gave up and never lost my passion. That alone is enough to endure anything. I created my business ( BROWS BY K.ROSHEL) to instill confidence in all women and men of all skin types. who said everyone can’t have amazing brows!!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am fairly new to the DFW (TX) area, but one spot my family and I fell in love with was a small dessert spot in deep called “Le Bon Temp” they serve the best Beignets in Dallas.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to my Husband and my Best friend Deja for always supporting me, and encouraging me to go after my dreams. I wouldn’t have came this far without them. Love you guys!!
