We had the good fortune of connecting with Keeley Edens and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Keeley, what are you inspired by?
I’m sure it’s no surprise, but I’m truly inspired by peoples’ passion for a problem. When someone talks about their issue with passion, I know they’ve exhausted all options and I can use creative problem solving to truly help them.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Plan Voyage is the first-ever event tech platform that bridges the gap between client and vendor. We’ve created a mobile app for clients to answer a specially curated questionnaire about their event and what they’re interested in seeing. So, you can input all the details of your vision, the location, the budget, and everything in between – all in the time it takes for your coffee to brew.
Most platforms that exist already send out your information leaving you to receive dozens of emails and phone calls from all multiple service providers. The difference is when you send an RFP through Plan Voyage, you’ll receive your proposal through Plan Voyage. All the elements you wished to see options for, (i.e Decor, Catering, Rentals, even that dang bounce house) are all presented on one proposal. You accept or decline item by item until your event order is exactly to your liking, and then you’ll pay one deposit on your consolidated invoice, and sign only one, beautifully written contract.
No fine print, no reading endless pages of Yelp reviews, and no dreaded games of telephone. You can relax knowing we’ve done the homework for you. What we’re most excited about and ready to yell at the top of our lungs, is that Plan Voyage’s vendor network will be dedicated to small local businesses of each market we’re in. #shopsmall
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The most incredible part of AZ is how versatile it is. If I had a week here to plan with a friend, we’d check out DTPHX where all the speakeasy’s, rooftops, and great restaurants are. North Scottsdale has some great little wine bars, and Cave Creek has an awesome country dive vibe up there, which is one of my favorites. We’d also have to make a trip up to Payson/Flagstaff, and then scoot over to Cottonwood to do a wine tour.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are three specific groups of people that I owe my success to. First, and most important, are my parents. They have not once questioned or criticized any of my crazy, seemingly impulsive, ideas. They have always pushed me to be the absolute best version of myself and didn’t just tell me I could put anything I put my mind to – they believed it whole-heartedly. My strength to get past the many, many roadblocks that entrepreneurship has thrown my way is 100% dedicated to them.
Next would be my pre-launch, 9-5 day-job team, Edrington Health Consulting. They picked me up and gave me a chance in the middle of the pandemic, welcoming me into their incredible family-like squad. When I told them I was starting a passion project on the side, their responses were “congrats!”, “how is it going?”, and “when the heck can we use it?!”, I tell them this all the time, but I have truly never been a part of a team as supportive as this one. I am so lucky to get to call these folks “friends” for (hopefully) decades to come and I look forward to building the same culture as I start growing the team at Plan Voyage.
Last, but certainly not least, I owe my sanity to my friends and mentors, who, through wisdom and a lot of venting, have got me to where I am today. I could talk for hours about how it takes a village to make anything happen, and I have so much love for everyone involved in this story, no matter how brief.
