We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelsey Ann and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelsey, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Do something related to your goals each day. It is very easy to get overwhelmed by the end goal because when your only focus is on that big goal, you get discouraged each day that you don’t hit it and end up not doing what you need to do. Focus on small things that you can do each day to progress towards your goal, whether it’s as simple as sending out one prospecting email or doing five minutes of yoga, it may not seem impactful on a daily basis but when you look at how much you can accomplish over months or years you will see how far you have progressed.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As typical as it sounds, I found yoga when I was at a terribly low point in my life. When I first started practicing, I was grateful for the distraction it provided but I never imagined how impactful it would be in my life. Something that began as a hobby blossomed into a source of income that I thoroughly enjoyed doing. Of course, it had its challenges just as anything worth doing does, but through those challenges, I was able to learn more about myself, the industry, and what worked best for my goals. An important thing to remember is that you will fail more than you succeed, but how you deal with those failures is what will distinguish you from others. At the end of the day, be you. Radiate what inspires you. Radiate what your passions are. Radiate genuinity. And when you do that, people will notice.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you follow me on Instagram you will already know that there will be hiking! Up at the Sonoran Mountain Preserve, you can catch gorgeous views of the hot air balloons against the mountains in the mornings and evenings. After working up an appetite, head to the downton Phoenix area for some good eats. There are so many little restaurants to explore there you cannot go wrong! One of my favorite places is Two Hippies and a Beach House for their fish tacos and frozen lemonade (the vanilla lemonade is my favorite). Happy hour and brunch is also a must while visiting Phoenix, I would recommend Snooze AM Eatery or Hash Kitchen for brunch and one of the hidden bars/speakeasies for a fun place to get cocktails (you can find them on Yelp or social media). 🙂

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to YouTube, that was my first yoga teacher. I had used the internet to teach myself yoga up until I enrolled in Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Pura in 2019. I had already created a really solid foundation in what I knew about yoga and my mentors in my YTT program were able to elaborate and expand in the areas where I was lacking.
