We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Guimarin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I was always taught I could do anything and to embrace a larger purpose. Being from a very-small town, I know first-hand the importance of community and relationships. When I founded Pop’s Coffee, I knew I wanted produce amazing artisan coffee, but I also wanted to create relationships.  One way we accomplish this is through our sourcing.  We are intentional in every aspect of Pop’s and that starts with our beans.  Our beans are sourced from fair trade, sustainable farms.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Everyone deserves to have a special moment all to yourself every day. Pop’s Coffee is artisanal coffee that’s small batch roasted-to-order so it’s fresh and made just for you. My charismatic, coffee loving father was my inspiration for founding Pop’s Coffee, I even named the company after him. My mission is to ensure every cup provides you with a chance to breathe, relax and enjoy life.  For me, the most wonderful thing about coffee is its ability to create connections – to bring people together. These are true #popscoffeemoments.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When we travel, we always visit the zoo and the aquarium. This is something we have always enjoyed, even before our children were born. So, I would make sure our friends went to both the Phoenix Zoo and the Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium. Another Phoenix favorite for me is our Desert Botanical Garden. It is a great way to learn about our desert climate and see the natural beauty it holds. No visit to our area would be complete without an outdoor dining “experience” at El Chorro. It is a piece of “Valley” history that’s not to be missed.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Always and forever, my family.  They inspire me and keep me grounded.

Additionally, I was honored to be featured in the Phoenix Know Women Book for 2020. Being part of this community of successful female entrepreneurs is so energizing.  These women are powerful, inspirational and supportive.  During this year of uncertainty, I have made new friends, I have made new business connections, and I have moved Pop’s Coffee forward.  I would say their mantra of “Lift & Rise” is going strong in this powerful and purposeful group.
