Meet Kinjal Kansara | Writer, Podcaster

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kinjal Kansara and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kinjal, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
My biggest advice to anyone trying to figure out where to start is this: Let your life inspire you. Your talents and skills, your motivations, your ideas, and your support system are all you need to start. You already have everything you need.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have just finished a fiction novel, which is based on some lovely characters I’ve met during my time in Maine. It is a fictitious love story and tragedy, the purpose of which is to help us explore the human condition and recognize how nuanced our world is.
Recently, I have also recorded a podcast, which is completely non-fiction, and based entirely on a recent life experience. For privacy, the names of the people who appear in the podcast will be altered, but it is a heck of a story that needs no embellishment. I started recording this podcast because I needed an outlet to explore what I had just gone through and I also needed a way to process my feelings surrounding the events.
It will be launching on May 1st, so please follow along on the journey to the release at willtolove.podcast.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a downtown Phoenix girl, so I usually take all my friends to my favorite spots on Roosevelt Row. Here are some I highly recommend.
Breakfast/Coffee shops: Kahvi, Stoop Kid, Lola, Futuro, Dark Hall
Brunch: Palma, Matt’s, Valentine
Lunch: Il Bosco, Tacos Calafia, TacoBoys, Taco Chelo, Gallo Blanco
Cocktail Bars: FYPM, Garden Bar, Bitter & Twisted, Barcoa, Highball
Beer: Greenwood, AZ Wilderness, Pedal Haus, Tap That
Dinner: First & Last, Sake Haus, Bacanora, Lom Wong, Sotisse
Hangouts: Churchill, Japanese Friendship Garden, Art Myseum, First Friday Art Walk, downtown Phoenix farmer’s market

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a major shoutout to all my loved ones who have been there to support me through the tough days, listened when I needed a sounding board for turning that pain into art, and just generally made me happier by simply being in my life.
