We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiosha Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kiosha, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think of risk in terms of my acting career. This definitely is a field that sort of requires you to take risk big or small. Risk for me personally has taken a major role in my career. Back in 2018 I decided to quit my job and devote all my time strictly to acting. I was going to train, take new photos, revamp my look and casting sites, update my resume, create great content for my reel and secure me an agent. Proud to say that I did exactly what a set out to do. Secured an amazing agent, Desi Nicole at Making Stars Talent Agency. I audition on average 3 times a week so I’m happy with that. By me taking that risk I did lose my vehicle, storage and had to move back home with family. Here is the thing, I have no regrets whatsoever and would do it again. I love acting and very passionate about my career.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been acting professionally for over twenty years. It hasn’t been an easy journey. I had to sleep in my car, blow up mattresses, sleep sitting up in a chair. There have been a lot of up’s and down’s. I’ve signed contracts (that would change my life) but they were cancelled for whatever reason at the time. I would hear, “She’s too unknown for the network or we are going in a different direction or we are going with a star name”. One must have tough thick skin for this industry because it’s a lot of no’s. Yes there have been many rewarding experiences. At the end of the day you got to love what you do and just put in the work. What sets me apart from the others is I’m very proactive. I write, produce, shoot and submit my projects to film festivals. It’s important for actors to create their own avenues which is what I’m doing.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being a California native of course I have to hit all the hot popular spots in Hollywood. Definitely would visit Theaters, museums, clubs, cantina’s, bars. On the weekends would have to hit up Leimert Park Village check out many different vendors and art shows. Then head to A-1 Burger on 8th/Vernon (where I grew up) then head to Gardena to Mr. Fries Man. We’d visit the Pike in Long Beach and eat at the YARDHOUSE and order Magic Margaritas. Itinerary would also include Six Flags Dave & Buster’s & Unity Escape Room.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Definitely want to shoutout my talent agent, Desi Nicole (Making Stars Talent Agency). She is simply amazing. She gets me in front of many heavy hitters in the industry. She is more than just an agent, she is my friend.
