We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristin Gish, Callie Jenschke and Kim West and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristin, Callie, and Kim, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Kim, Callie, and I arrived in Austin around the same time between 2012 and 2013, as the city was undergoing rapid growth. Amidst the construction boom and influx of new residents, we quickly realized there was a significant gap in the market—there was no luxury fabric and wallpaper showroom in Austin. Interior designers, architects, and builders were forced to travel to other cities in Texas or even to NYC and LA to source the soft finishes they needed for their projects. Recognizing this unmet demand, we decided to fill the void and create a destination for high-end design resources right here in Austin.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
SUPPLY is a boutique to-the-trade fabric and wallpaper showroom based in Texas. SUPPLY offers a curated mix of exclusive artisan based lines from around the world. Our lines represent all aesthetics from modern to whimsical, global to new traditional–including classic basics for all your design sourcing. We offer hundreds of COMMERCIAL grade fabrics and wallpapers.

What makes SUPPLY special is our top-notch cumstomer service. Designers from all over the U.S. choose SUPPLY to source for their projects over other showrooms because we not only are our offerings unque, but we offer quick and efficient service.

Getting to where we are today has been a lot of hard work. We have made many mistakes along the way, but have learned from them, and used those mistakes to refine our proccesses.

Our brand story is very cool as the owners, the three of us met through mutual friends and introduced when we all moved to Austin. We each brought our individual tastes to the table when starting SUPPLY which gave SUPPLY it’s magic.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting Austin, I’d make sure to pack the week with a mix of iconic sights, local favorites, and hidden gems! Austin has so much to offer – from its live music scene to its quirky neighborhoods and natural beauty. Here’s a small itinerary that balances food, adventure, and unique experiences:
Day 1: The Classic Austin Vibe
Morning:

Breakfast at Veracruz All Natural – Start the day off right with some of the best tacos in Austin! Veracruz is known for its miguelito tacos, breakfast burritos, and super fresh salsas. Grab a seat at their food truck location and enjoy the Austin morning vibe.
Hike at Barton Creek Greenbelt – After breakfast, head over to the Barton Creek Greenbelt. It’s one of the best places to get some nature and take in some fresh air. There are a variety of trails that take you past creeks, cliffs, and lots of greenery. You can also take a dip in one of the natural swimming holes, like the famous Twin Falls if it’s warm enough.
Midday:

Lunch at Franklin Barbecue – Austin is known for its barbecue, and Franklin Barbecue is an absolute institution. It’s a must-try, though the line can get long, so be prepared for a bit of a wait. Trust me, it’s worth it. The brisket, ribs, and sausage are legendary.
Explore South Congress (SoCo) – After lunch, stroll through South Congress. This street is packed with quirky shops, vintage stores, cool boutiques, and street art. Stop by Allen’s Boots for cowboy boots, or pop into Jo’s Coffee for a quick pick-me-up. You’ll also see the iconic “I love you so much” mural!
Afternoon:

Visit the Texas State Capitol – Take a walk over to the Texas State Capitol. The building itself is stunning and you can take a free guided tour to learn more about the history and politics of Texas. The surrounding grounds are great for a leisurely walk or to just hang out and people-watch.
Hang out at Lady Bird Lake – Head over to Lady Bird Lake for some fun on the water. You can rent kayaks, paddleboards, or just take a relaxing stroll along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail, which has one of the best views of the Austin skyline.
Evening:

Dinner at Lamberts Downtown Barbecue – For dinner, switch things up with a more upscale take on Austin barbecue at Lamberts. They have amazing smoked meats and great sides like mac and cheese, and it’s a great spot if you’re looking for something a little fancier.
Night Out on Rainey Street – Rainey Street is where Austin’s nightlife shines. It’s a unique street with bungalow-style bars and food trucks. Go for the relaxed vibe with outdoor seating and live music. If you’re into craft cocktails, try The Tellers or Lucille for something special.
Late Night:

Check out some live music – You can’t go to Austin without hearing some live music. Head over to The Continental Club for a classic Austin music experience or check out Antone’s for some great blues. Both spots have been around forever and are iconic parts of the Austin live music scene.
Day 2: More Hidden Gems & Fun Austin Culture
Morning:

Breakfast at Elizabeth Street Café – This place is a beautiful fusion of French and Vietnamese cuisine. Go for their banh mi or the egg banh mi for a super unique breakfast. The vibes here are gorgeous, too.

Then visit the Blanton Museum of Art – If you and your friend are into art, head to the Blanton Museum on the UT campus. They have incredible exhibitions, a stunning modern art collection, and the Ellsworth Kelly’s Austin—a unique chapel-style work that’s a must-see. Also across the street is The Texas Memorial Museum or LBJ Library – If you’re into history, the LBJ Presidential Library offers a great look at the life and career of Lyndon B. Johnson, with loads of interesting exhibits. Or, if you’re into natural history, the Texas Memorial Museum has fascinating exhibits on fossils, minerals, and Texas wildlife.

Midday:

Lunch at Micklethwait Craft Meats – Another classic Austin BBQ joint, Micklethwait is located in a food truck park and has a great selection of smoked meats, sausages, and homemade sides. The smoked chicken and the jalapeño cheddar sausage are favorites here.
Explore East Austin – East Austin has a really cool, eclectic vibe with lots of street art and local cafes. Head over to East Cesar Chavez to check out the murals, then swing by The Museum of the Weird on 6th Street, which is quirky and a bit of fun (it’s packed with taxidermy, oddities, and local history).

Evening:

Dinner at Pool Burger – Pool Burger is a fun, casual spot in Austin that offers great food and a laid-back vibe. It’s located the Deep Eddyarea, right near the iconic Deep Eddy Natural Spring Pool, so it’s the perfect place to grab a bite after a swim or an afternoon of exploring.

Night:

Watch the Bat Colony at Congress Bridge – End your night with something uniquely Austin: the Congress Avenue Bridge bat colony. From March to November, millions of bats emerge at sunset. It’s an amazing spectacle and a fun Austin tradition.
Final Drinks at The Driskill Bar – If you want to finish the night with a classic Austin experience, head to The Driskill Hotel. The bar inside this historic hotel has a luxurious yet cozy vibe, perfect for a nightcap.
