Meet Kristin Levitskie | Partner & Creative Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristin Levitskie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristin, how do you think about risk?
When my business partner, Susie Edwards, and I started Levitskie Creative back in 2015, we had the vision of creating a completely remote, full-service, branding and packaging design studio. But nine years ago, working remotely wasn’t really a thing, and large companies didn’t want to take the risk of hiring agencies without legit office space. Although we had a few clients who were willing to take a chance with us because they respected our years of experience, track record of success, and out-of-the box thinking, There was really no guarantee of success. But we decided to take the plunge, anyway. Now that we are post-pandemic, the rest of the business world has caught up with our way of working and no one thinks twice about meeting over Zoom, or chatting on Slack, from all of our home offices, all over the world. We like to think that we were trailblazers of the virtual work style! Now clients understand that we can provide world-class service, without having to cover loads of overhead. But it wasn’t always an easy sell in the beginning.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My business partner and I have worked off and on together for 20+ years. Somehow, we always found ourselves at the same agency, and paired up in a team because we worked together so seamlessly. We also share the love of packaging design, and helping brand owners uncover the true essence of what their product is all about, then bringing it to life through colors, typography, graphics, and structure. Packaging is the one piece of marketing a customer brings in to their homes, and makes a part of their lives – it’s so personal. We pride ourselves in crafting each subtle detail to resonate with the right person. We just completed the launch of a global snack brand and the intricacies of working with different cultures, different legal requirements, and different market landscapes was fascinating! We’re so proud of the results and look forward to helping to introduce the brand to more and more countries in the near future. Working in the world of CPG food and beverage is never easy – we admire the entrepreneurs we work with who are willing to give it all and then some to make their dreams a reality.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Two pivotal people in my career stand out to me. The first is Mikel Cirkus, a creative director I worked for who was the first to say to me, “Have you ever thought of doing this for yourself? You have the talent and knowledge, why not go for it?” That one comment opened my eyes to a career path I had never, ever considered before. And more recently, the fantastic business advisor Diane Helbig, who taught me that selling is actually about helping people solve their problems. Her book “Succeed Without Selling” is an absolute gold mine of information for people like me who have struggled with feeling comfortable selling their services.
