We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Romero Patrick and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Honestly the most important factor behind my success is to always find time for myself. As a business owner in the creative world it’s so easy to get caught up and work 24-7, it’s so important to take time for yourself so you don’t hit a rut. Being a creative, you always have to be up to date and coming up with new content, the best way for me to do that is when I take my me time. Wether it’s a quick work out or a bubble bath, I always find my me time. Once my me time break is over I find myself being even more focused and ready to work and let my creative juices flow!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
How did I get to where I am today is kind of funny actually. I went to Arizona State and got a degree in tourism and now own a Social Media Marketing Agency. So how did that happen? In all of my classes in college I would always be on social media instead of paying the most attention (sorry mom and dad) and well I guess you can say that put me ahead of the game coming out of college. My first job out of college was in event planning and I enjoyed it but truly enjoyed the marketing, branding, social media advertising side of things more than the event planning part. I even went as far as being the assistant event planner for the Dalai Lama’s birthday party in Orange County. But after that I decided to pursue a career in marketing, after about 2 years doing marketing, mainly on social media, I decided to just focus on social media marketing and started my own company. My main clientele are Real Estate Agents and I’ve grown a pretty big name for myself in the Real Estate world in Arizona. I would say my journey wasn’t easy but wasn’t overly hard. Social media marketing came pretty easy to me since I am a millennial and understand tech very well. I did a great job making myself an expert in SMM and from there people kind of flocked my way. The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is, don’t let people take advantage of your kindness and knowledge… you are worth so much more than letting people use you for their gain. You have to respect yourself and use your voice, have confidence and take that big chance, just go for it. You deserve that raise, you deserve those props, you deserve great reviews and you are worthy of the praise.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my BFF was visiting for the weekend I would start by taking her out to old town Scottsdale and heading over to Culinary Dropout, the food and drinks are amazing, especially the pretzels and cheese (yummmmm)! On another day we would go to north Scottsdale and go to Postinos or Dominicks. Lastly, we would go to Jets pizza in Chandler, the best!!!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband deserves all of the credit in this story. My shout out will 100% go to him. Since day one he’s been my biggest support system to get to where I am today. He’s also been a big help in my business and connecting me with new clients. Being a new first time mom of a 6 month old baby things can get hard trying to manage baby / mom life with running a business and I have to say that my husband has gone above and beyond to make sure I am able to continue working full speed ahead while he helps with the baby. He takes care of everything, he is truly a saint.
