We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyle Carstens and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kyle, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I earned a bachelor’s in finance from the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona. I decided to pursue this business because it fits my personality perfectly. I enjoy having fun, socializing, and meeting new people. When I host parties it’s important that guest feel welcomed and enjoy the event. Arizona Margarita Rental provides an opportunity for guest to experience a “wow” factor at any social gathering. Guests are always impressed with the taste and how easy it is to serve these cool, refreshing margaritas.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Arizona Margarita Rental is a local Tucson-owned business that rents margarita/slushie machines. Our machines serve ~60-70 beverages an hour and include accompanying mixes that can be enjoyed at any type of celebration, such as birthdays, retirements, graduation, tailgates, weddings and more!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When friends visit Tucson, I want them to experience some of the best of Tucson. We usually start with a hike at Saguaro National Monument or Tumamoc Hill to experience the beautiful southwest nature. We would eat at restaurants unique to Tucson such as Mi Nidito, El Charro, and Eegee’s. Then we would visit downtown Tucson, 4th Ave, and University Blvd. It’s always enjoyable to visit the different shops, restaurants, and enjoy the evening entertainment.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout my parents Renee and Steve, my sister Mackenzie and my extended family and friends that helped me along the way. I would not have been as successful as I am today without all their support and guidance.
