Meet Laprè | Recording Artist, Singer/Song-Writer, Rapper & Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Laprè and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Laprè, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I chose to pursue an artistic / creative career because the conception is limitless. When i began writing & sharing my perspective of life through my voice, i started to realize the positive impact it had on not only myself but the people around me and through technology, the world. I’ve always always wanted to be a vessel of healing for others and realized i was able to embody that mission through making music and sharing it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My name is Laprè pronounced (luh-pray). I am currently an Arizona local Recording Artist originally from Maywood, Illinois and i’ve been active in the music scene for 6 years but have been involved in music since childhood.

What sets me apart from others is my drive & versatility. Being able to sing, rap, make beats, and have a hand in the production of my creation is one of my greatest assets to my artistry along with the creative process and is a skillset i don’t take for granted.

I am currently most proud of my resilience. I still go through periods of self-doubt and imposter syndrome dealing with the process of the music industry but i often remind myself of the impact already made through my crafts messages and use that proof to fuel my determination to keep going.

I got to where i am today professionally through research , investment, consistency, promotion, networking with my local community , and support from my family & peers. At first, it was not easy at all, I had to be a learner for a while and allow my peers to be my teachers; I had to gain and lose connections & opportunities & know that every experience was sent to shape me into my authentic artistry and propel myself forward toward my main goal.

I overcame a lot of the challenges I faced by resting and resetting. A lot of entrepreneurs are on a drive that never stops because we often feel we must meet the demands of what now is society. However, a lot of us forget how vital reseting and resetting mentally can be. Resting allows you the ability to not only sleep but really be present in moments of peace. Resetting mentally can be done in many forms and allows you to refresh your mind to move forward & generate more creative ideas.

A few lessons I’ve learned is how vital consistency is on your journey, The impact self sufficiency can make during the process, and that there really is no time limit when it comes to creating/creation and sharing it. Every one has their own light to shine and story to tell and knowing that at least 1 person is willing to listen, watch , see , means there is purpose in the work put in.

I want the world to know that Laprè is here and here to stay.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A couple of my favorite spots in the city is Rooselvet Row in downtown Phoenix; I love going there for the scenery of the all the murals on the buildings and most of the time to create and showcase that area visually. Tempe Town Lake & Papago Mountain are two of my favorite places to go to explore & really reset mentally if needed. Hot n Juicy in Scottsdale is one my favorite spots in the city to eat at, the food and customer service is always outstanding. & lastly, This Karaoke spot in Mesa “414′ is one my favorite spots to go to and sing karaoke with my family.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to all my supporters who have heard, accepted, uplifted, and supported my vision & journey since the very beginning. The ones who have literally watched me transform & evolve from the ground up to who and what i am now. I have a special kind of love for that support group and want them to know how vital their love and support is on this journey . In general, my love & gratitude is immense for anyone who has contributed in any way, especially for the ones who still consistently support my passion for music.
