Hi Lauren, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued an artistic and creative career because it allows me to explore the boundless realms of imagination and expression. Creativity fuels my passion, providing a means to communicate ideas, emotions, and perspectives in unique and captivating ways. There’s a profound sense of fulfillment in bringing something new and meaningful into existence–whether it’s a story, a piece of music, a painting, or any other form of creative expression. It’s an endless journey of discovery, growth, and self-expression, and I couldn’t imagine pursuing any other path. Creativity is often the only thing that makes the most sense to me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As an artist, body art/permanent makeup tattooer, and esthetician, my journey has been one of passion, dedication, and continuous learning. Over the past seven years of being self-employed, I’ve had the privilege of transforming my artistic talents into a fulfilling, full time career.

What sets me apart in my field is not just my technical proficiency, but also my commitment to personalized service and creating meaningful experiences for my clients. Whether it’s crafting a custom tattoo design that tells a story, enhancing natural beauty through permanent makeup, or providing art, I strive to exceed expectations and leave a lasting impression.

My journey to where I am today hasn’t been without its challenges. Building a thriving business in the beauty industry requires resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace change. I’ve encountered obstacles along the way, from navigating the complexities of entrepreneurship to staying current with evolving trends and techniques. However, each challenge has been an opportunity for growth and refinement, pushing me to become the best version of myself both professionally and personally.

Through it all, I’ve learned invaluable lessons about the power of perseverance, the importance of genuine connection with clients, and the transformative impact of self-belief. I’ve discovered that success is not just about accolades or recognition, but about the satisfaction of knowing that I’ve made a positive difference in someone’s life.

What I want the world to know about my brand and story is that it’s built on a foundation of authenticity, integrity, and a genuine love for what I do. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I feel like I’m a relatively simple gal when it comes to planning and trips for people. It doesn’t take much to make me happy and give me something to look forward to!
I absolutely love going to see live music and spend most of my free time catching as many shows as I can. One of my most frequented music venues (The Nile in Mesa) has started greeting me with a “welcome back” when I catch the same security guards. I love taking visitors around Tempe Town Lake to walk around and get some fresh air. My most favorite spot for food (and sometimes drinks) is Ollie Vaughns. I adore their ever-changing menu of items and their stunning as ever pastry case. Most of my visitors get taken to Luana’s, Lux or Dark Hall Coffee for a pick me up!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Forever and always, my grandparents. As I sit down to reflect on where I am in my life and career, I am overwhelmed with gratitude and appreciation, much of which I owe to the both of them. Their support, encouragement, and unwavering belief in me have been the guiding lights through every challenge, hardship, and moment of self-doubt.

Today, I find myself at a point where I can see the fruits of my labor and the milestones I’ve achieved. It’s not just about the external markers of success, but also the growth, resilience, and character development that I attribute to their love and guidance. Their belief in me, even when I doubted myself, has been a constant source of strength.

Grandma, your wisdom and gentle nudges to pursue my passions have shaped my career path in ways I could have never imagined. Grandpa, your quiet strength and what was a steady presence had taught me the value of perseverance and hard work. Together, you have been my pillars of support, always there to celebrate my triumphs and lift me up during moments of uncertainty.

As I navigate through my journey, I carry with me the lessons they’ve imparted, the values they’ve instilled, and the love that binds us together. Their sacrifices and dedication have paved the way for my success, and I am eternally grateful for the countless ways they’ve enriched my life.

So today, I want to take a moment to recognize not only my achievements but also the profound impact my grandparents have had on shaping the person I am today. Thank you for believing in me, for cheering me on, and for being the constants in my life’s ever-changing landscape.
