We had the good fortune of connecting with LiLi Kosek and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LiLi, what is the most important factor behind your success?
First of all , Thank you for Shoutout Arizona for such a great opportunity to express and share my thoughts based on my current experiences on business.
This is an interesting question. My business hasn’t achieved the success that I expected yet. There is still a long way to go, but we are happy with what it has built up and returned so far. I would say we target the right products and plan for big are the key. Target the right products– discover a right product and make sure the product is in a growing demand. Once get success and experience with the initial product then create a new product line which is related to the initial. Keep exploring and repeating. Plan for big– Never set up your goal by numbers such as amounting what sales volume you want to achieve yearly etc. Set up a big plan like you want to change people’s mind /idea or you want to hire more employees and return back to the society.

Please tell us more about your business. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?

Our company- Say Yes Group was founded in 2008 in Hongkong, we export home textiles and millions of units of hotel supplies worldwide yearly. A year later of moving my life to the USA, I launched a fulfillment center for home textiles such as bedding ,rugs etc in Arizona. We also registered our brand -Say Yes Bedding -which features on fun and unique printing design for all ages. Our bedding sets could be part of room decoration idea rather than just sleeping items. We are very pleased to see how our end customers enjoyed the fun brought by decorating their spaces around these products. We are also very proud that our products have helped booming the sales for the resellers and wholesalers ‘ platforms.

Nothing is easy in business, especially for a woman owned 🙂 , When I first moved here from China in 2015, I barely had friends, I was also not quite understanding what was going on with the society.  In the spring of 2016, with a little help of a Chinese accountant that I found from a local newspaper, I set up the company officially and rebuilt our websites in about 4 weeks . Few months later, I participated a few trade shows trying to expand my hotel supplied business and get buyers for Say Yes Bedding. I did not get any strong leads that I expected for. Few hotel buyers and chain stores buyers asked for samples but didn’t come up with positive results. But ,luckily, during the trade shows, I learned that we could actually be a supplier to the most e-commerces. Our first drop ship customer was Houzz. they introduced us to the whole world of drop shipping and direct fulfilling. Then later on, Amazon contacted us telling that they wanted us to be their 1st party seller. Today, we fulfill orders daily from 5 main e-commerce in the US. We are looking forward to get our loyal and repeat customers to shop directly from our website sayyesbedding.com. We also continue to attract more resellers and dropship vendors to carry our products.

What I have learned from having a self-owned business is Never give up, Keep trying and Do the right thing is more important than do the things right . It could be very stressful from the beginning, I had stress coming from capital money, suppliers, manufacturing and marketing. I still remembered the feeling of paying my first month 4500 Yuan rent money for my first show room/office in Guangzhou China back in 2008. Instead of getting paid monthly from an employer, there I had to pay monthly to someone else without guarantee of getting anything yet. That was very challenge and stressful for a young ambitious lady right then. However, nothing could beat me down. Today. I have overcame high and lows in business. I have experienced so many hash and difficult cases in international deals. I am more than clear than any past days of what I wanted to do and achieve in future. We want to keep growing and hiring more people and benefit more families. Keep influencing and inspiring people’s idea on room decorations. We would also like to keep enlarging our products categories to meet the demands.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Highly recommend old town Scottsdale . Chandler fashion mall. Be sure to eat in a nice seafood restaurant called High Tide in Gilbert.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give special thanks to my husband Jason, He has been supporting my business from the beginning. He helps taking care of the important little details of the company such as insurance, warehousing and office supplies etc. He is also a good listener. Whenever I have new ideas or new concepts coming up, he is always the first one that I would like to share to : )
