Meet Linda Giangregorio: Reiki Master Teacher

We had the good fortune of connecting with Linda Giangregorio and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Linda, why did you pursue a creative career?
I chose to teach Reiki to women through weekend long camping trips because of the personal impact Reiki has had on my life. Being a woman I can empathize with other women on this healing journey of finding self acceptance and unlearning who we’ve been taught to be. I was diagnosed with Hodgskins lymphoma 4 years ago, and besides healing, that sent me down the rabbit hole of personal growth, and self love. Reiki was a tool I used often, on the chemo drugs themselves, and through private sessions monthly to assist my body, and my emotions. Because of this, and many other things, I faired treatment far better than anyone else they had seen. I knew that if Reiki had such a big impact on my life, that there had to be other women looking for the same. A place to connect with themselves, as well as other heart minded women in a space such as nature that implores us to take deep breaths, drop our stress, and just be present.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
There are quite a few people who teach Reiki, but not quite the way that I do. I got to where I am professionally because a fellow Reiki master gave the advice that I would be great at teaching and that I should do it outside. The way the Reiki placements work is through a guided meditation that takes place in a forest. What better way to immerse then actually being in the forest. Now Reiki is not gender specific, but I knew that I wanted to offer a safe judgement free experience that women could attend, that would foster openness, and release. Surprisingly the growth this first year has been beyond expectations. It has taken a lot of cultivating social media, perfecting what I want the website to say, but most importantly just showing up as my authentic unique self and using my voice to advocate for self love through learning Reiki. The biggest lessons have come through the women themselves. As I teach, they teach me. I’m always leaving the weekend a little lighter, and better for knowing them. The main thing I want the world to know about Prescott Reiki, is that we offer an experience that goes far beyond the 3 days we spend together. Learning Reiki and applying it daily will change your life. Just ask my students!!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Funny that you ask, as a part of my retreats is to take the girls to fun local shops, especially coffee! If I had a friend visit we would most likely start in Flagstaff. There are a couple of places that are a must for me. One of them is Tourist home cafe, and Firecreek coffee. Both take the time to make quality drinks and food, and you can taste the difference. From there we would head to the Crystal shop downtown, and try not to buy everything! Another day would be spent in Sedona most likely at Oak Creek. I think you can’t visit Az without a trip to Jerome, and eating at The Haunted Hamburger, and leaving with a treat from the candy shop! Not to mention the views, and the history! Finally I have to say that a visit to the North Rim Grand Canyon is a must! The BEST AZ sunsets, weather, views, and just overall vibe can’t be beat!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The number one person that deserves the biggest shout-out is my husband Jason. He has been my biggest encourager, my biggest help on the business side, and the one that shows me I am perfect exactly as I am. We have been married 19 years this July and hands down he is the person that has helped me grow and evolve to who I am today the most. He is my safe harbor, the one I reach for at night to fall asleep, and the first one to congratulate me on the success of this new business!
