We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsay Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lindsay, can you tell us what you are most passionate about?
I truly love making women feel good about themselves, my passion is people. The feeling I get when I’m able to turn someones day around, be there for them, cry with them, laugh with them, share stories with them. My job is so much more then just doing hair. I build relationships, friendships ❤️ I wouldn’t trade it for anything else.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I would have never finished beauty school if it wasnt for my husband pushing me to go back and finish. I had given up, after almost 1000 hours (1600 required) and gone back to bar tending. I was a single mom of a 5 year old and couldn’t balance working full time and going to school full time. I Met Jason and he pushed for me to re enroll, and helped me with my son along with my family. It was tough but it was the best decision I ever made. He put up with me all these years of giving up and going back and forth deciding if this is what I really wanted to do with my life. We moved from Scottsdale to Nw Peoria and I started building my clientele at a corporate salon. I did that for a couple years but found it difficult to have other people tell me how to be with my clients or what to charge them. I just wanted to make people feel beautiful, I didn’t want to treat them like a dollar sign. I went out on my own, doing house calls, posting ads on Craigslist and social media. I was able to build on my own and decided to rent a suite with a friend. That’s all it took, I never stopped building, I went from renting a chair in a corner suite to now owning my own salon In just 5 years, I have an amazing team and I’m Grateful every day for the amazing people in my life. It wasn’t easy but I never gave up again. I found such joy and passion in what I was doing. I found my purpose. I wanted To help women and empower them to be their best self. , And I’m able to do that one person in my chair at a time.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Not so much “spots” but I love going on road trips to Prescott, or Sedona and even Jerome. Going on Razor rides through the desert, heading up to Lake pleasant for jet skis, boating and fun on the water. Cave creek is always fun for cute shops and good food.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband Jason and my family……
