We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Love and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The key to my success is to continually see myself “where I want to be”. Whether that’s a career change, moving into a different relationship or forging ahead with a new interest, I work to see myself already there. I let go of the past, as it is irrelevant to where I want to be. I have learned from the past, I grow, and I move ahead. The past helped me get to this moment. I use visualization techniques as a tool to map out some of the details of what I would like to experience. I have enjoyed my success and continue to be in the presence of the moment. For me this is key.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As an artist the underpinning of my work is that of human existence. I am driven by the quest for a more tranquil way of being for the greater good of all humanity. Through the use of color, texture, form, and function I hope to instill a sense of peace into the observer. A moment of joy for another to experience.

My journey as a fine artist began with a highly successful career as a graphic designer and design studio CEO. My focus on visual branding for some of the world’s leading companies earned my business national and international recognition. As a commercial artist, I was able to travel the world, experiencing the people and their culture first-hand. These enriching experiences have had an impact on my work as a fine artist.

I still use the design skills that I learned early on to design works of art for the modern lifestyle. I have specialized in ceramics, abstract paintings and sculptural pieces. I have exhibited my art throughout Arizona at galleries and venues in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, Sedona, Jerome and Tucson. My work is also available in the Museum Store at the Tucson Museum of Art and the Phoenix Art Museum.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In Phoenix, we would explore the Desert Botanical Garden, one of the city’s most popular attractions. Have lunch at Gertrude’s. Their local farm-to-table cuisine is great. Then just across the street we’ll see the sandstone buttes of Papago Park.

A walking tour of Old Town (Downtown Scottsdale) would be on the agenda, along with checking out the Scottsdale Waterfront, and finishing up at the Royal Palms Resort.

Hike the summit trail at Piestewa Peak in Phoenix. It is one of the most popular hiking trails in the city. Then we’ll plan on sunset drinks at El Chorro. El Chorro is an iconic restaurant known for the views of Camelback Mountain from their patio.

One day we would hop in a pedicab and take a tour of the downtown sights in Phoenix. Later in the day we would drive up Central Avenue and get a spot on Windsor’s patio. After dinner, we’d have dessert at Churn. It’s a charming little dessert spot next to Windsor.

Then of course we’d visit the Phoenix Art Museum, have lunch, and check out their wonderful museum store which carries some of my artwork.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to recognize my husband, best friend, and trusted confidant. Many years ago I visualized and saw myself in the type of relationship I wanted to be in. Our relationship is better than anything I could have dreamed of or imagined. A heartfelt thank you, my love, for all you do. I would also like to thank my daughters for their constant support and encouragement.
