We had the good fortune of connecting with Luke Brenes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Luke, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
I would say one thing is how diverse electronic music really is. Edm is always used as an umbrella term but there’s so many different genres and sub genres that bring different sounds and grooves to the table.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets my sound apart from others would be all the different elements I incorporate into my music. My grooves are always hip hop influenced accompanied with heavily manipulated synths and other sounds. I’m excited for Covid to ease its way out of our lives and for everything to go back to normal. I’d say a lesson that I’ve learned is that I should always put myself in a position where my passion is my priority. It does require sacrifice, but at the end of the day it’s what’s needed for success in my craft.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my family and friends, they’ve been pretty supportive throughout this whole journey. Also, shoutout to all the people that continue to play my music. It’s really encouraging knowing my tracks are being listened to around the world.
