Meet Maria Jasmine | Transformation Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Maria Jasmine and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maria, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
One of my favourite quotes is one by Wayne Dyer.
“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”
In both my coaching and personal life I am a huge fan of understanding the psychology behind our behaviours and how this influences our lives.

What should our readers know about your business?
5 years ago I was in a miserable relationship, 60lbs overweight with a diagnosis of autoimmune hashimotos (under active thyroid). Id been to the doctor who had told me id need to be on medication for life and how this medication would be increased over time.
Sitting on the edge of my bed one afternoon feeling totally fed up, I decided there had to be another way and a better life. I said a little prayer asking to be shown the way.
Quite literally the next few months were certainly brought change. I came across an article on plant based nutrition on Instagram and found the book, Hashimotos Protocol by Izabella Wentz, both of which talked about healing yourself through the power of plant based nutrition. I decided to try it out. I then decided to join my local gym and take Zumba dance classes and this catapulted me into an incredible personal transformation.. Within 6 months I had lost 60lbs in weight, become a regular gym goer and was embarking on qualifying to become both a Zumba instructor and a Personal Trainer.. Amazingly, during this time I put my thyroid condition into remission and completely came off medication for good!
During this time I realised the power of positive thinking and how by changing myself I was inspiring so many other women. I embarked on a journey of self discovery, learning the psychology behind behaviour change and how we find ourselves in certain situations as adults, which usually stems from childhood experiences.
I took a life coaching course, which in the beginning it was actually to help me understand myself and my own beliefs, but this led me to combining all my knowledge into creating a very powerful holistic online weight loss programme for women wanting true transformation.
It is my absolute mission to help women who are in a place where I once was, confused with the diet industry and struggling to lose weight, who may have underlying health conditions and just not know where to begin.
I want everyone to know that If I can do it you can too.!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the outdoors and walking in nature the Grand canyon and it’s natural park is a must see for any visitor. Extremely beautiful red rock scenery and cliffs. I’d also recommend hiking around Havasu Falls which is also nearby, although you need to be quite fit to hike there. It’s very beautiful.
Eat at the Green new American Vegetarian restaurant which is great for vegans and vegetarians. Try the vegan buffalo wings (made from soy protein and mushrooms ) and the artichoke salad which is delicious.
If you fancy a vegan coffee and some sweet treats check out Nami in downtown , near the baseball stadium. The donuts are so good!
Cool down a little at Mountain lakes up at the Rim, go early in the summer to grab a parking spot, west canyon lake is a really nice break from the valley heat.
Finally watch the sunset at Papago Park, most people watch the sunset at hole in a rock although it does get busy.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes! I’m obsessed with self development books and my own personal transformation was what lead me to the coaching business I run now.
It’s hard to choose but, if I had to choose one book, I’d recommend Joe Dispenza, “Breaking the Habit of being Yourself”.
An amazing eye opening book that could really help in transforming your life, especially health.
Using the concept of simple meditation, learning the power of being able to completely switch off from our busy lives for just a few minutes can transform our health like nothing else, resulting in profound healing for people. I especially like this book because it explains the science behind the spiritual practise of mediation and makes it accessible to so many people.
