We had the good fortune of connecting with Marily Acevedo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marily, what role has risk played in your life or career?
The way I take risk is go big or go home. There is so much to do in this life , if we start to hide behind or not go for what we want to go. Then are we going to get where we want to be at the end? It is better to say “yes I did that !” Rather then “no I did not do that” or even “I wish I did” because at the end we don’t know the answer. And I think we all fear what is the unknown. 5 years ago I found never thought to have the life I have now and they Experiences that I have now that I am 30 years old. Quite a few years ago I was so afraid that I wouldn’t get the “likes” that it takes to be an influencer or as popular. Because I was a single mom of a infant. But I still went for photography and I completely fell in love , knowing what I know now that you don’t need to have 100k followers to be big , having a unique and charismatic personality behind of what is a screen. Is way more Authentic than a people pleaser. So I took that risk of what I called the unknown. For me that was my version of the unknown. It has taught so many things in my everyday life. As well as my social media, knowing not having as much followers and being able to take risk and make a living. Trying to make my social accounts as relatable as possible, if I did not take that risk I would not be able to experiences that I have now.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
One thing I can say that sets me apart from every one is that , I stick to myself and not try to be a people pleaser just to get the likes or the followers. The most challenging part of my career would be learning the new things of the field and learning how to cop with new strategies, even though I wasn’t used to That even though coming from an Immigrant family , and being Mexican American women I got to Experience a lot of things that not much people get the chance to. That anything is possible

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well I live in Arizona , where is known as desert but not everyone know the small part of Arizona where it snows and it’s nothing but mountains , so we would go to Flagstaff Az , where the elevation is 7,000 amazing air and water. Some great places is Snowbowl as well as Grand Canyon , amazing views and a great picnic enjoying the great view and nature. You can camp ,hike and enjoy the nature.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The book the inspired me is Russ , because each chapter you understand what each song means , and you connect more with the songs. As well as Eric Thomas he helps me become a better person and helps me improve on myself . The daily things I do in my life.
