We had the good fortune of connecting with Mason Gajkowski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mason, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Long-term relationships. I think there are so many people who are just looking to make a quick buck. We believe success is determined by the people you surround yourself with. As a food truck scheduler, we want to make sure that the trucks and clients we work with have a high-quality experience. There are a lot of jobs we take on where we don’t make as much money as we could but we would rather have a happy customer that returns than a few extra bucks.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Working with food trucks is a blast because every day is different and there are always opportunities to learn and grow. I’ve never heard of a company that works with a wider range of people. The food truck owners we work with come from all different parts of the world and have completely different backgrounds. Some never went to college and others have multiple MBA’s.

Personally, I had to learn (and am still learning) to have an Outward Mindset. When I look outside myself and focus on others and trying to make their lives better, things seem to go well. I also recognize that I don’t have all the answers. I’ve learned more real-world lessons from the “truckers” than I had from any class I took in college.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Great question. We would definitely start the day with some sort of physical activity, and recently, that means going to the pickleball courts to get my butt kicked by 80-year-old ladies.

There are fantastic food trucks all over the valley. We could find any type of food your heart desired. If it were a Tuesday or Wednesday, we would go to the League Nights we have in Chandler and DC Ranch. We bring 5-10 trucks each week so there’s something for everybody!

I promise you won’t find a better burger than Phat Cheeks Grill or Yum Rockets. I regularly dream about eating from The Chicken Coop and it’s physically impossible to be within 5 miles of Bonzai Boyz without stopping for some of their dragon wings. My wife and I once got into an argument because I didn’t bring her some Bored Baker Pizza.

We could EASILY fill their schedule with some incredible food!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
That’s an easy question; Taylor Harris. When I first met Taylor, I was playing football at Utah State and had all my eggs in the “I’m going to be the next NFL star” basket. After our first few conversations, I could tell that his approach to life and success was what I was looking for.

When I brought up the idea of expanding our company and moving to Arizona to open my own Food Truck League, he was nothing but supportive, optimistic, and helpful throughout the whole process. (Even though I was definitely in over my head!)

As we have been grinding through COVID and changes in the market, his coaching and guidance always come at the exact moments I need them!
