We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Haynes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Megan, what do you attribute your success to?
I became a Realtor because we had such a bad decision buying our home when we moved to AZ. I was in tears on the day we closed. The next day I decided to become a Realtor because I never wanted anyone to feel that way on the day they move into their new home. Buying or selling is always stressful to some degree but I wanted to help people so that they were excited and happy on closing day instead of upset.

I got my license and joined an amazing team where I learned from amazing Realtors and then after 4 years I decided it was time to start my own team with the idea that we always put the needs of our clients first. Above all else, even if we make less. We make sure whatever we do is in the best interest of our clients. We built a small, hard working team and our business is over 90% referral based. Our clients refer us out continuously and return to use us because they know that we truly have their best interest at heart. That is why we named our team Heart To Home AZ. and end all of our emails, letters and videos with “from our heart to your home.

To answer your questions clearly the success of my business is that we always put our clients first.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We hosted a client appreciation Happy Hour a couple weeks back and as every client arrived, we hugged, talked, laughed and caught up about what was going on in their lives. My preferred lender, who was helping with the event leaned over and asked if I only sold to friends or if I had clients that were outside of my “friend group.” I laughed and explained that they were all clients who had become friends. My service is not one and done. It is a life long relationship and I think what sets us apart from other Realtors is that every one of my clients knows that I value the relationship we build during and after the home selling and/or buying process.

I learned early on in my career that an initial consultation is key to building this relationship. I want my service to be the best for each client. so during this meeting, we discuss more than just the technical and legalities of buying and selling. We make sure we will work well together. It’s their chance to interview me to see if they like my style and in return it’s my chance to interview them to make sure that we can communicate effectively. Communication and transparency are so important. I discovered early that if the clients and I are not on the same page the whole transaction is stressful. If I don’t feel like we will work well together I have some amazing agents on my team that I will pass them to or refer them to an agent that I think can take care of them. As we said, our clients’ needs come first.

The amazing thing about this is that with our initial consult begin so open we haven’t passed on a client yet. But it sets the stage for an amazing transaction and the building of a great relationship. I think taking this stance felt risky when I first began doing it. But it has turned out to be the best decision for my business.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Arizona has so much to offer. We have friends from all over the country who do come and visit regularly so this question is easy to answer.

We live in Gilbert and have so many fun bars and restaurants to take them to. We love live music and dancing as well so the options are endless. We usually take them out one night in Down Town Gilbert. Get dinner at any of the amazing places to eat and then head over to Whisky row for live music and dancing. We will also take them to downtown Chandler. We love to introduce them to San Tan Brewery and the amazing food and then follow it up with more live music at the Stillary. To most people from out of state they love the open air concept and so if its football season we will take them to watch a game at the Sand Bar in Gilbert.

We love to take our guest out exploring in our side by side. Our favorite trail is the ride out to Crown King, AZ. It’s an amazing trail with stunning views that shows the vast array of landscapes that we get to enjoy living here. It takes you from desert to high desert to pine trees all within a two hour ride. The views are stunning. Plus you get to drive past, and stop in for a beer at the Cleator Yacht Club. Which is an actual ghost town. Then when you get up to Crown King Lunch at MJ’s Cafe or the Saloon before heading back down the mountain.
