Meet Melanie Verstraete | Mentor | Podcast Host | Author | Speaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Melanie Verstraete and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melanie, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My purpose and my passion is to change the cultural narrative for people all over the world. The narrative right now is extremely toxic and unhealthy. It’s a narrative of self betrayal, self loathing, fear, manipulation and control, a complete disconnection from the divine masculine, the divine feminine, ourselves all other living creatures and Mother Earth. We are completely at odds with ourselves and each other, we feel this turmoil because we are disconnected from the truth of naturalness of who we are. In my business I help people come back to wholeness, heal from the wounds that they have been carrying, understanding that they are not anything that happened to them in the past, nor does it define them, unlearning all the patterns and programming that have kept them stuck, learning how to think in a way that empowers them, not inhibits them, reprogramming the auto pilot that runs their life and keeps them stuck on a hamster wheel, truly loving themselves and creating a beautiful relationship with self and others and bringing them back to the essence of who they really are, which is love, joy, prosperity, fulfillment, purpose, pleasure, health, peace, power, success and freedom.

What should our readers know about your business?
So much here to get into! What sets me apart from others is my passion for this work, my unrelenting love for what I do and to serve others. I know it is my purpose. I know it is the reason that I had to go through so much crap in my past including not having my father in my life until I was an adult, an emotionally unavailable mother, six stepdads by the time I was 21, an emotionally abusive step father and two toxic marriages just to name a few. I’m the person who has “been there, done that” in so many aspects of my life that it gives me the love, compassion and empathy for humanity. I do not take the work I do lightly. I know I have a responsibility to share all that I know to help heal the collective so people can start living a full beautiful life, the life intended, to help them realize everything they need is within them now and always has been. What I do in my business found me. It was through my own healing and “unbecoming” that I created such a beautiful life and truly stepped into my power. Going from living in fear and scarcity, making choices out of worry about “what would they think”, guilt, shame, lack, self sabotage, unworthiness, etc etc. To living a life that feels like Heaven on earth. I knew it was my destiny, my purpose, my responsibility to share this path back “home” with the world. It was definitely not an easy path, but at the same time it’s not hard. It takes the desire to change, it takes the being really uncomfortable to change, to be willing to sit in the discomfort, it takes looking in the mirror and knowing you did this, your choices, your decisions, and therefore only you can change it, it takes knowing that no one is going to rescue you or can do this for you, it is your path and your path alone, but others like me, mentors, can walk along side of you and show you the way, but you and only you can do it. “Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” Leo Tolstoy These words always play in my mind. The only way to change anything in this world is truly to just start with yourself. It all begins and ends with you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We have so many beautiful places to visit and one my favorites is Sedona. The trip would include hiking the Red Rock Secret Wilderness and the Boynton Canyon Vortex, also take a dip and slide through Slide Rock State Park. I love going to the uptown -Main Street district in the heart of Sedona to eat and you can literally choose any restaurant that sounds good, you can’t miss. Also go shopping there, there are art galleries, souvenir shops, fudge and candy shops, crystals, healing shops and psychics. So much to see and do. I would also stay at one of the local bed and breakfast places, they are so quaint and make you feel right at home. The Enchantment Resort is a beautiful place to stay too with breathtaking grounds complete with wild deer. The views are so spectacular in Sedona so it’s also fun to take a helicopter ride and rent some ATV’s to go exploring.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
That list is long. I have worked with many people, many mentors within my own healing transformation which was about six years ago. Some of which were Tony Robbins, Nicole LePera (The Holistic Psychologist) and Bob Proctor to name a few. It was Bob who created a pivotal change in my life, as he taught me the power of the subconscious mind and how to change my thinking. Books written by Neville Goddard, Wallace B Wattles and Napoleon Hill also helped amongst so many others. The most important of all mentors though was God and my commitment to myself, my growth, my healing, my “un-becoming”, my drive and will to do whatever is takes, my willingness to look in the mirror and take ownership that my life was the way it was from my own doing, my choices and my decisions, no one else’s, my courage, my love of self and others, my responsibility that this is bigger than me, that I am an example, a role model in this way of being, that my taking radical responsibility and vulnerability for myself gives others the courage to do so for themselves, that my forgiveness of myself and others for not knowing and giving myself grace through this whole process. The understanding that I am my only problem and at the same time, I am my only solution. The un-becoming of everything that I am not and becoming who I really am, the most authentic version of me, the image and likeness of God, the Creator, the Perfection within.
