We had the good fortune of connecting with Melissa Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melissa, what do you attribute your success to?
Consistency is the most important factor behind my success as a lifestyle blogger. It’s important to be present on social media in a consistent manner and engage daily with your followers. I feel that it helps me connect with them and that I could be a consistent resource for them.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I work for full time for a non-profit organization. The work I do can be rewarding but also intense. Blogging is my creative outlet and a place I can express myself. When I started six years ago, I never intended for it to be a business. In the last few years, I’ve been lucky enough to monetize blogging and make a nice side income for my family. The road was not easy and believe me I wanted to quit several times. Working full time, being a mom, running a household, and running a business can be a messy juggle. Work life balance can sometimes run you to the ground. I overcome these challenges with the support and help from my husband. I recently hired an assistant and delegated tasks that are important to my business. I want the world to know to stay positive and keep striving for your goals. I hustle every day for my family and thankfully it’s because I love what I do!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh my gosh! This is my jam. Here is your itinerary bestie:
Eat – Hearth 61′ for Brunch, Diego Pops for Lunch, and Sicilian Butcher for Dinner
Drinks – Speakeasy Galore – Pigtails Desert Ridge, The White Rabbit Bar, and Gin & Reel High Street
Visit – Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, Jerome, Carchner Caverns, Prescott
Resorts – The Scott Resort, Hotel Valley Ho, The Saguaro, Omni Scottsdale
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my dear friend and business partner, Rosa Cardenas. She has supported and mentored me throughout the years. She always encourages me to reach for the skies in my business!
I also wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of my husband. Whenever I feel like giving up, he helps me feel grounded and encourages me to keep going. I will forever be grateful for his love, support and encouragement!
