We had the good fortune of connecting with Mer Norwood and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mer, what do you attribute your success to?
Definitely authenticity. My blog is dedicated to food, nature, beauty, and everything in between. I partner with many brands and small businesses, and I will never post about an experience or product I did not sincerely enjoy. I have even communicated with business owners if I did not have a positive experience and choose not to post about it, because I also believe that businesses deserve the chance to receive feedback, too. I cherish authenticity so much- it’s because my audience trusts me, and the content that I am putting out there. I would never break their trust, and I hold this to the highest honor.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
She Moves PHX is my personal blog, but also an influencer marketing agency. I connect local influencers, bloggers, writers, and photographers, with local businesses in order to increase their social media presence. I’ve built a network of influencers since 2017, and work with small businesses to create new, shareable experiences for influencers. I’m proud to have worked with award-winning businesses including Hana’s Japanese Eatery, Ruze Cake House, Sip Coffee & Beer Garage, etc. I’ve built a roster of partners that I’m very proud of, but it did not happen overnight! It took a lot of hustling, focus, and networking to get here. I’ve learned that it’s important to push outside of your comfort zone, and never assume. Some businesses I only ‘dreamed’ of partnering with, partnered with me because I had the guts and confidence to ask them. Know what you want, and chase after it! And that’s the type of person I stand for, and what my brand stands for, too. I’m not only a dreamer, I’m a do-er. I am so grateful for everyone who has been a part of this journey, and I can’t wait to see what’s next!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a tough one! In the years since I started blogging and writing about the ‘scene’ in the Valley, I have visited over 600 places.
I want to thank every small business I have ever partnered with. Thank you for giving me a chance, and thank you for believing in me! Of course, I also want to thank my friends, family, and my loving husband, Justin!
