Meet Micah Dennard | Owner & Graphic Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Micah Dennard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Micah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind me starting my clothing line business was simple. I wear/buy clothes; so why not have my own brand that represent/means something to me personally. It has since grown to wanting to build generational wealth for my family and eventually for my children.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What I want people to know about my brand/story is this: Never give up on your dream; starting over is NOT starting from scratch.
Having a small business really pushes you to grow your knowledge base I have had to wear many hats through out the years of owning/running my own business. For example, as a small business owner you automatically also become a content creator, book keeper, accountant, and photographer. ( just to name a few)
Starting my brand has really challenged me to grow the creative side of me that I wasn’t aware I had; which is amazing.
Through this business journey I taught myself how to tie dye clothing as well as utilize Adobe to create graphics for content post and logos for my brand.
One of the hardest challenges that I have had to overcome is building a successful brand for almost 3 years with my co-founder and after the friendship was lost having to dissolve the business and start over. It’s something I’m still currently overcoming but i know that this is just the beginning for me because “starting over does NOT mean starting from scratch!”
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of my favorite places to hang out or eat at are: Bahama Bucks
The Hub Grill and Bar
810 Billiards & Bowling
Poetic Soul
1st Fridays
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family has a huge role in my business story and they deserve huge credit! A lot of people say your family will be the last to become customers when you start a business but that hasn’t been my story I have family members who have support my brand from day one and continue to support me even through dissolving one brand to build a separate one. My support has been AMAZING
