We had the good fortune of connecting with Mike Ewing and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mike, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
My clients success in a fun simplistic approach. Arizona has hundreds of golf instructors that all teach the same principles for the most part so you have to separate yourself from the rest. We have what is called a Blueprint Performance Plan which is uniquely tailored to every client. Yes we can be like most and have a person fit in to a category and give them generic stuff but thats not us. We believe that your swing is your swing, just with us its better! Having our clients feel comfortable, confident and having fun is what we are all about. Golf is already tough, instruction and getting better shouldnt be. Our simplistic, fun, come as you are approach is what has given us extremely high customer satisfaction. The key to our success… our clients success, with a bit of fun!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Dirty Divots Golf is truly a different take on golf instruction and fitness. What sets us a part from others is how we instruct. You are not a number with us your part of a growing family of golfers that want to shoot lower scores and have more fun. But why are so many instructors reinventing the wheel? They key to Dirty Divots Golf comes from our clients. With our background in fitness we are able to dynamic body movements that some others miss, this forces people into uncomfortable positions or swings that are repeatable leading to more headaches on the course. This is where we come in to play. We take your swing and your movements and fine tune and enhance them, leading to better shots, lower scores, and more fun.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For an amazing golf experience in the valley my top two would have to be Quintero and Troon North. First the views. Looking out to see the whole valley with gorgeous back drops and elevated tees are absolutely amazing. Second, the overall experience. Customer service at its finest, at these places you get treated like your a pro. Third has to be food and beverage. From the delicious snacks and meals to the taste of heaven with their cocktails, it will be sure to give you the proper swing juice for your round!
Now if you are going out of the valley for an up north trip an absolute must is Stoneridge. This beautiful course is tough, rewarding and just down right a blast to play. Not only do you get the mountains and trees as your back drop but you get some of the best shots in golf to hit with your friends.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes to my good friend and previous boss, Brett Evans. I have known this man for many years and let me tell you not only is he a great friend but he is a hell of a golfer. When I worked along side Brett for many years I had the privilege of bouncing ideas off of him in an instruction and golf base. Never once did he say that was a bad idea and actually he was the first one to try most of it out. Now Brett being a long time member of the PGA loved tweaking his swing so he was the perfect peer to test theory’s out on. His mentorship and encouragement to keep pursing building a company that would change the way golf instruction is done in person as well as virtually is what gave me my initial push to build Dirty Divots Golf.
