We had the good fortune of connecting with Minor Arias and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Minor, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I realized that if I continued with my job, I would not get to live life on my terms. I realized that if I wanted to experience the last years of my son’s childhood and truly share with my wife while living the experiences that I dreamed of, I was only going to achieve it with my own business.

I thought, this is a risk to take for a greater ROI so I was committed to make it happen.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I quit my job to start my own business because I realized I wasn’t living the life I truly wanted. It dawned on me that this was the reality for many people – from employees to business owners. Most individuals yearn to create something different in their lives but lack the knowledge and guidance to make it happen. That’s where my business comes in.

I help people identify the blind spots in their lives and create a Life Design that aligns with their true desires, free from the expectations of others. Moreover, I empower them to take action today rather than simply hoping for change in the distant future.

Through coaching programs and retreats, I embark on a transformative journey with my clients. Together, we reflect on their past achievements and propel them into a creative stage where the magic happens. They finally realize that what they want to experience in the future starts today and depends entirely on their actions and mindset.

What sets me apart from others is that I didn’t create this concept as a strategic move to enhance my business. In fact, it all stemmed from people witnessing the positive changes I made in my own life. Many resonated with my approach and began seeking my guidance to create their own version of an enriched life. Essentially, I embody the principles I help my clients embrace.

I take immense pride in the decision I made, as it has not only demonstrated to my son that life can be lived on our own terms, but it has also highlighted the significance of values beyond a high salary. Witnessing the transformative changes my clients have made in their lives fills me with great satisfaction. They have embraced responsibility for creating what they truly desire, rather than succumbing to victimhood within the system.

I am particularly excited to announce the upcoming publication of my third book, “Vive por Diseño,” which I began writing back in 2017. After years of hard work, it is finally ready to touch the lives of countless individuals.

Was it easy to reach the point I am at today, business-wise? Oh, far from it! To describe it as easy would be the furthest thing from the truth. By the end of my first year in business, I found myself on the verge of bankruptcy, with no clients, no income, no savings, and over $20,000 in credit card debt. It was an incredibly challenging and emotionally taxing time.

Fortunately, I crossed paths with a coach named Jason Leon at the beginning of my second year. Through a few coaching sessions, he helped me identify my business mistakes and set me on the right path. With dedication and commitment, I turned the tide and completely transformed my business.

Now, after nearly nine years in business, I can confidently say that it has become easier. However, like any other business, I still encounter ups and downs from time to time.

Throughout my entrepreneurial journey, I have learned several valuable lessons:

– Living the life you want is possible, but it requires effort. There is no magic wand; you must put in the work and reap the rewards later.

– Success may not have a set formula, but it undoubtedly requires certain key ingredients: commitment, perseverance, faith, self-worth, humility, and vision.

– Your background or expertise does not determine your ability to achieve great things in life or business. Seeking help and guidance is crucial, and the sooner you do so, the faster you’ll progress.

– Never let money be your sole motivation. Money is a byproduct of providing valuable service, and service should be at the core of your mindset.

– Always invest in yourself. The more you grow personally, the more opportunities you’ll uncover in the world.

– Time is not the issue; we all have 24 hours in a day. It’s about setting priorities and managing them effectively.

I want the world to recognize that living life on your own terms is not a selfish act, but rather a service to both yourself and the world. When you prioritize your own happiness and well-being, you become more productive, impactful, and able to contribute positively to the world around you. It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved.

I believe that each individual has the ability to design their own life, shaping it in a way that brings fulfillment and joy. By doing so, we can fully appreciate the beauty and richness that life has to offer.

So, let’s encourage the world to embrace the concept of living by design. Let’s inspire others to break free from societal expectations and follow their true passions and desires. Together, we can create a society where people lead authentic, purposeful lives, making a positive impact and finding fulfillment in the process. Life is a magnificent gift, and it should be cherished and lived to the fullest.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Not sure about restaurants but I’d definitively take him to hike Devil’s Bridge. It’s by far my favorite place. I’d also take him to airport viewpoint for the sunset; what a beautiful view when the day transform into the night… just wonderful!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d say the list is huge but for sure the first Shoutout is to God. Leaving aside religions, I do believe there is a God who has been walking with me and showing me the path every single day. He has to be my frist mention for sure.

Next is my wife Jenny; she’s been my mastermind, my accomplice, my councelour, and specially my biggest representation of love on earth. Without Jenny there wouldn’t be “Vive por Diseño” (Living by Design) nor any of my business and the impact I’ve created. Words are not enough to explain what she means to me, my life and everything I do.

To Jason Leon, who as a coach helped me see the mistakes I was making with my business during the first year and thanks to whom I was able to start turning it around that brought me back from the brink of bankruptcy in 2016.

To Alberto Carvajal who, after being one of my clients, became my main life and business mentor without him knowing it. Alberto has taught me a lot from his philosophy of life.

And I cannot stay without mentioning a book that marked a before and after in my way of seeing life… Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
