We had the good fortune of connecting with Mora Steele and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mora, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Have you had a hair appointment that felt like a therapy session and a space to heal? This is my wish for everyone who sits down in a salon chair. I consider myself a modern day, undercover light-worker that is here to share messages of love through the art of hair and transformational energy coaching.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I developed the concept of Hair & Healing while on a journey of self discovery, radical compassion and transformation. As a stylist of 15 years I always knew there was more to ‘hair’ than hair itself. Hair & Healing has grown into a unique concept combining high vibe hair dressing and a safe space for transformation from root to crown. Our hair contains our DNA – the codes of what we have gone through in our lifetime. It is something that must be treated with honor, integrity, and loving care. These sacred self care rituals can be deeply healing when safely held. We also have lots of fun doing it 😊 This concept shines a bright light on the deeper purpose of what the beauty industry has to offer. I hope that this concept continues to grow so it can reach more people who are wanting to go inward and reconnect with who they are. What people are truly craving is themselves. I am here to remind my clients of the beauty they embody, who they are inside and offer support while guiding them back to themselves. My hope is that you can leave my station seeing and feeling what I see and feel in them.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh I love this question! We would of course begin our day with some fuel. One of my favorite local breakfast spots is The Queen Creek Olive Mill in San Tan Valley. The vanilla waffle, breakfast potatoes and dirty chai latte is always the go to! Next spot would be a day trip to Sedona under the blue skies, crisp air and majestic red mountains. Crystal shops, a yoga class or day hike and a trip to a local well to bring home some high vibe water. We would have to sneak in a day of pampering at Colair Beauty Lounge and MedSpa in Gilbert and even an evening massage at Citrus Massage in Chandler. Next, a fun day downtown Phoenix, plant and art shopping and lunch at Angel’s Trumpet House is a must. Fryday Friday (French fry Fridays) The BEST spot in the valley for delicious fries with your girls is LGO in the heart of uptown Phoenix. Saturday is spent under the Gilbert water tower downtown Gilbert for all the local goods and a fuel break with Mama’s cold brew coffee and a bouquet of flowers from the sweetest brothers, Roots in Spanish & From Roots to Flowers. Soul Sunday at my favorite local Healing Space, Abundant Space in Scottsdale. Connections and shopping with local heart-centered women, artist, makers and healers. Finishing up the trip with a sound bath and breathwork session workshop held at this beautiful healing space.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
While on this path I was divinely led in the direction of transformational energy coaching. I was introduced to CEO Natalie Ehmka of The With Heart Energy Coaching Certification program. This training not only took my personal healing and transformation to the next level but it offered a one of a kind experience to my clients. I would love to share this concept with other stylists who are also sending out a powerful ripple of light.
