We had the good fortune of connecting with MoShai Gibbs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi MoShai, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Ardor Hair Company started because myself and two college friends were looking for a hair brand that catered to us! After years of wearing various hair brands, we all had a passion for extensions and thought it would be something we could give the world. After a year of research, product testing and more we were able to launch Ardor.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

While there are many brands out there Ardor Hair Company is focused on providing premium products to our “A-Team”. I would say what sets us apart is our brand story of being college friends coming together and also providing a top product focused on premium quality. Each bundle comes from a single individual and is completely unprocessed and authentic. Our partners ensure every strand is quality- tested, so you don’t have to deal with the hassle of bad hair!

It has not been easy, we started our journey back during 2019 and spent over a year during research and navigating how to get things going. We are consistently working to ensure our product is top quality. Along the way we have learned that not all suppliers are equal, you do not have success without the work, working smart and putting automations in place is very beneficial.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh this is easy because I frequently host and plan weekend trips for friends coming in town. Let’s say their trip is from Sunday – Saturday, we will kick off Sunday at church visiting my church Faith Christian Center then hitting up brunch at Sugar Jam and ending the night at Blue Martini.

Monday – North Mountain for an easy hike then LGO in Arcadia for commuter sandwich and coffee. Ilove the Phoenix Art Museum so that will be on the list as well and dinner at Buck &Rider.

Tues – Thurs – Sedona Trip including Winery tours/tastings, hiking, Jerome and ATV riding. Thursday night when we get back to Phoenix we will do dinner at Steak 44 and maybe R&B Thursdays @ 11:11

Friday – Hot Mat Pilates Class @ Body Alive then The Sanctuary for a Spa Day. If it is first Fridays we will be downtown!

Saturday – Depending on the time of year – spring training, Suns game or a festival and then drop off at Airport

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my business partners Erin Butler and Jerdona Caston. They both have taught me so much and they are directly responsible for where we are today and where the business is going in the future.
