We had the good fortune of connecting with Grim Moses and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Grim, what do you want your legacy to be?
The whole reason behind what I do, Is to bring something to the table that makes people feel personal strength. I think society tends to make us feel like we need to be or think a certain way in order to be taken seriously. Life can take its toll on you. I feel like my legacy should be one that leads people to stand up for self no matter the cost. The way we are told what to think and believe needs to be studied. We as an interconnected community should always ask questions and challenge the status quo. Being blindly lead by the government or our peers is not a trait of individuality and free will, but one of indecisiveness and frailty. So, If you listen to Grim Moses music and your not sure what to take from it, Listen more closely for the context that speaks for Unity and Strength. Because that is the context behind every piece of creative work I release. I want to also just send a shout out back to the Voyager for helping spread the word about the hard work people like myself are putting in on the daily to give something back to the world. Thank you.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think what sets me apart from others is that I don’t tend to follow the trends and I always go against the grain. The way I got to where I am today is by staying dedicated, the opinions of others can make you feel like art and music is a waste of time. I certainly think trying to make something out of your creative endeavors is very difficult. I have learned to not take anything personally and to keep my mind focused on creating. The focus of just wanting to better myself has brought me a long way. I would hope my story helps others find their gift and to put their all in what they do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In Phoenix i would definitely hit the Cobra Lounge, I love arcades and the energy the place has is just great. Also, if your looking for great southern food try the Southern Rail. Chef Beckett is one of the top Chefs in the valley and the venue is amazing. I would also tell my friend if your visiting in the summer to hit Wet n WILD. I personally love water slides and amusements parks. There is really a lot to do in Phoenix, Az if your the out going type. I would say check out all that the city has to offer and find what is really your cup of tea.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to send a shout out to The Architect, who took the time to work with me and give me advice on staying diligent in making Hip Hop music. I have wanted to give up and I have felt discouraged about how to survive in this industry financially. His insight helped me understand that you have to keep on creating and giving your voice to the world. Because the music is what matters not the opinion of others.
