We had the good fortune of connecting with Mya Warren and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mya, how do you think about risk?
I’ve always been a daredevil and will try anything. That’s one of the greatest characteristics about me. I will try anything once and I’m not afraid to make mistakes. That’s exactly how Candle Mayhem fragrances are born, just simply trying the most unthought of fragrances and mixing them together!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My candle fragrances are truly one of a kind, and I pride myself in being able to showcase my creative side in such a way to share my creativity and bring about nostalgia into homes. This journey has definitely not been easy as we know this industry has become extremely saturated, but it never stopped me and I never gave up. I’m not saying that I didn’t want to there were definitely times when I had to lean on family and friends to give me the gas I needed to continue. I remember telling my mom I wish I could just jump to success and she told me that if I did, I wouldn’t learn the many lessons that I needed in order to be where I am today and My was she right! There are just certain things you have to go through in order to really understand this business and to gain your vision.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Arizona has some of the best hidden gems and being that I love outdoors I would definitely take any of my friends and family that visit on a hike up Mormon Trail in South Mountain or Quail Trail in Goodyear, followed by a trip to downtown Phoenix that is my absolute favorite area of Phoenix. They have so many outdoor and rooftop eateries that can be enjoyed at any time of the day, one of my favorite being “Cambria”, where you can find live music or “Champagne lanes” where you can grab good eats good music and enjoy some miniature bowling. There’s just so much to do. It’s hard to narrow it all down
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I definitely want to shout out my family. I hear so many people who don’t have the support of one’s family and I absolutely do. They have been there for me from day one. Whether it was giving me ideas or critiquing my ideas, it always comes from a loving place and I appreciate and accept them so much. They support me mentally, spiritually, and even buy my candles at regular price to show their support and it means the world.
