We had the good fortune of connecting with Neda Derakhshan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Neda, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
The one thing i believe is very hard for outsiders to know or understand is how much time it takes to make a cake, decorating detailed cakes is very time consuming, especially when everything is handmade from scratch,
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is simple yet has its own challenges, but i think that goes back to my personality, im a perfectionist also very detail oriented person. Thats when it becomes difficult for me! Theres been many times i have restarted a whole project from scratch because i wasnt happy with end result! But through it i have learned that sometimes when the mistakes happens, new ideas come to my mind that end up making it even better than i imagined, and that is a lot more satisfying to me now.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love walking around Scottsdale quarter & Kierland commons on weekends, many shops and great restaurants for any time of the day.. fave spot to eat there is true foods, at the quarter and at kierland i love going to ‘North’. one of my favorite Restaurants to eat and hang out with friends is Maple & Ash located in old town scottsdale, the food is amazing and the service is impeccable.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My very supportive Family & friends who have always cheered me on and encouraged me to follow this creative path, also shoutout to my loyal clients who have been there and keep coming back through the years, with exciting & new challenges. Im happy i can be a small part of their life celebrations year after year.
