We had the good fortune of connecting with Nick Kahlor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nick, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Together, we’ve built not only a band but a tight-knit family, and it’s this sense of unity that forms the foundation of our success. We all put in equal effort, which sometimes involves making personal sacrifices. We believe it’s critical to put in the work, and really be there for each other when things get hard and overwhelming. Knowing that you’re surrounded by people who will help carry you to the finish line when your burnt out and struggling truly makes the difference between success and failure. It truly is a group effort, and everyone puts in as much as they can.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Our art is more than just music; it’s a reflection of who we are as individuals and as a collective unit. What sets us apart is our commitment to authenticity and storytelling. Each song we create is infused with personal experiences, emotions, and perspectives. Creatively, we’re all about changing it up and never doing the same thing twice. If you check out our music catalog, you’ll find metal songs, alt-rock songs, indie-pop songs, even a bit of punk rock. We strive to be a ‘genre-fluid’ band, so you never really know what our next single is going to sound like!

Our journey to where we are today has been anything but easy. Like many artists, we’ve faced our fair share of challenges – from financial struggles to creative setbacks and everything in between. At the end of the day, the best way to get ahold of the struggles you will undoubtedly experience is to break down each problem into small pieces, and address it one at a time. Don’t be afraid to delegate either! Nobody knows that you need help until you communicate it!

What we want the world to know about us is that our music is more than just entertainment; it’s a form of expression, a way to connect with others, and a testament to the power of unity and friendship. Our story is one of passion, perseverance, and the belief that with dedication and hard work, anything is possible. We hope that our music inspires others to pursue their dreams fearlessly and to never underestimate the impact they can have on the world. We even have a song ‘Whatchamacallit’ which conveys this point far better than any words I can type here could!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It depends on who takes the friend out!

If it’s our drummer Sam, you can expect a bike ride around the canal paths of the city followed up by a couple of happy hour beers down at Four Peaks!

If it’s our guitarist Jesse, you’ll be taking a trip up to Strawberry for lunch at Old County Inn, and coming back into town to sing some karaoke at Monkey Pants in Tempe!

If our other guitarist Nick takes you out, get your harness on because you’re about to go rock climbing down in Superior, followed up by beers and arcade games at his favorite bar: Thunderbird Lounge.

Our bassist Stumpy would take you to have a chat at his favorite coffee shop, Jarrod’s Coffee, followed up by a local show at his favorite venue: The Rebel Lounge.

Finally, our singer Shana would take you for a walk around her neighborhood with her adorable corgi, Pearl, and follow it up with a trip to O.H.S.O to have some food and drinks with all the pups your heart can handle!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Too many people to list deserve a shoutout! We have experienced so much positivity and support from fellow bands/musicians and fans it’s almost overwhelming.

Our producer Dan Parker deserves a special shoutout: he has a real feel for how to help us bring the most out of our musical ideas, and truly take them to the next level. To say he’s been a game-changing influence on us is an understatement.

Another special shoutout goes to fellow local band Joan of Arkansas, who took a chance on us by giving us our first gig 3 years ago. They are such incredible and supportive people who welcomed us into the Phoenix music scene with open arms and we are truly so grateful to them!
