We had the good fortune of connecting with Nitrah Neon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nitrah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my own business was that I already knew how to sew do photography, graphic design and model so I could combine all of those skills together and start a clothing brand.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is that I work on many different mediums and I only put out the highest quality. I am most excited about dropping a new fall line this year, it has some of my favorite designs I’ve made and I am working on a new high end designer line called “Trependicular” where I am selling my handmade one of a kind pieces. In addition to that I am going to release a new EP in the next few months. I got to where I am today by working really hard and never passing up an opportunity. It was definitely not easy to get to where I am people just want free stuff or to take advantage of you and it is really difficult/expensive to vend festivals if you’re a small brand. Some lessons I have learned along the way are to always make people sign contracts and that your real friends will always support and buy from you. I want the world to know that I put so much time effort and love into all my art and I think that it shows.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of the best things to do in Arizona would be to start off with brunch at Morning Squeeze and drink mimosas. Then go to the pool. Later in the day go to get boba at Tea Snow in Mesa and sushi at Saketini. In Downtown Phoenix Cornish Pasty has really great vegetarian/Vegan options, great drinks, pool and darts. Downtown also has some of my favorite spots to shoot photos especially at golden hour.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give my boyfriend Lucas a shout out. He always helps me perfect my designs stays up late with me helping with different aspects of my businesses. He also helps me write music and is always willing to do photoshoots for whatever I need.
