We had the good fortune of connecting with Paul & Julianne Daniells and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paul & Julianne, what do you want your legacy to be?
The best legacy for DanceWise Dance Studio is for people to remember their time dancing with DanceWise as truly enjoyable in a professional, friendly, encouraging atmosphere where they could forget their troubles and couldn’t help but smile. We would love people to remember DanceWise as a fun and welcoming place where we are serious about our dancing but committed to providing each of our clients with the best experience possible! It would mean the world to us at DanceWise if anyone who visited our studio could take any dance knowledge we provided to them and “pay-it-forward” to the dancing world at large.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being professional ballroom dance instructors and studio owners sets us apart from other businesses, as it is as much creative as it is business professional. Our approach to dancing, and to owning a studio, is unique in that we truly do our best to create a fun, welcoming and professional environment where our customers are greeted by name, and they are not just a number.
Professional, both Paul & Julianne have higher education degrees in other fields in addition to professional qualifications within the dancing industry. Perseverance, dedication and hard work is how both Paul & Julianne achieved their abundance of professional qualifications across multiple industries.
DanceWise Dance Studio is “The Wisest Choice in Dance!” We want the world to know that anyone and everyone is welcome to dance at our studio and whatever your dancing goals, we intend to help you enjoy each step of your journey! As a husband and wife dancing and business team, we strive to share our love and passion for dance with each individual who steps into our studio. With over 50+ years of dancing and teaching experience, your feet are in good hands with DanceWise.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The most obvious first stop would be our beautiful studio! From then, the week would consist of visiting our favorite locally owned and operated eateries, such as Verdura vegan restaurant right next door to our studio, Wild Tunas which is our favorite local sushi restaurant, Pizza Heaven bistro, The Whining Pig bar, Revolu Taqueria, and the like. Things to do would include the Butterfly Wonderland, Kierland Commons in Scottsdale, the Heard Museum, take in a dinner theater show at the Arizona Broadway Theater, the Arizona Science Center, Top Golf and sight-seeing in Old Town Scottsdale. A week would probably not be enough time to show someone all that Phoenix and Scottsdale have to offer!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are many, many people who have helped us get where we are today. From family to mentors/coaches, friends to loyal clients, there are almost too many people to name! The major credit goes to our family members, John & Vicki DiBacco ( Julianne’s parents), Margaret & Peter Daniells (Paul’s parents), and Paul’s daughter, Elise Daniells. Another family that deserves credit is the See family, Gregg, Cheryl, & Claudia See, long-time clients of ours who have been with us every step of the way!
