Hi Preston, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I was always drawn to the world of art and self-expression as a child. I cherished the independence that came with being creative and the sense of pride I experienced after coming up with something wholly original and genuine. My love for creation only developed as I got older. I discovered that I was drawn to the difficulties and pleasures of a creative career, where I could constantly challenge myself to think creatively and approach each assignment from a new angle. I loved having the chance to realize and share my original vision with the world.

Today, I am grateful to be able to live my dream of a creative career. I am constantly inspired by the world around me, and I never tire of the thrill of creating something truly original and authentic. Whether working on a new film project or my outdoor adventure brand, Tenpeak, I am driven by my love of creativity and self-expression, and I know that I will always be drawn to the world of art and imagination.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a filmmaker and creator of short-form content, my art is driven by a passion for telling compelling stories through film. The endless possibilities of visual storytelling constantly inspire me, and I strive to push the boundaries of what is possible in my work. One thing that sets me apart from other filmmakers and content creators is my ability to create unique and original shots and tell compelling stories through my work. I am constantly seeking out new ways to push the boundaries of traditional filmmaking techniques and find fresh and innovative approaches to storytelling. Whether experimenting with new camera angles, incorporating unique visual effects, or collaborating with other talented artists, I am always looking for ways to take my work to the next level and stand out in the crowded field of content creation. One of the most important things I have learned is the value of persistence. No matter how many setbacks or challenges I may face, I know that I can overcome anything with hard work and determination. Ultimately, I want the world to know that if you have a creative vision, you should do whatever it takes to bring it to life. Whether you are a filmmaker, a writer, a musician, or an artist of any other kind, your unique voice and perspective can inspire and move people in ways you can’t even imagine. So don’t be afraid to follow your dreams, and never let anyone tell you that your art isn’t valuable or important.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
During our one-week road trip to Big Sur, CA, we will have the opportunity to experience all this stunning region offers. We’ll start by hitting the trails, taking in the breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the rugged coastline. In the evenings, we’ll indulge in some of the area’s top restaurants, like Nepenthe, known for its panoramic views and delicious cuisine. We’ll also stop at the iconic Bixby Bridge, where we can snap some amazing photos and take stunning views. And, of course, we’ll spend some time exploring the charming towns and villages that dot the region, like Carmel-by-the-Sea and Monterey. Sightseeing will be one of many things we do. Although, we’ll also make time to relax and unwind at some of the area’s state beaches. And with all that Big Sur has to offer, we’re sure to have an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime trip.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Filmmakers and storytellers invest a lot of time, energy, and passion into their work. Therefore it’s essential to recognize and cherish what they have contributed to storytelling. It might be simple to ignore the significance of a well-told story in a society where we are continuously barraged with information. However, the truth is that stories have the unique ability to inspire, inform, and educate us. They can give us a better understanding of the world around us and a window into the lives of others. It’s simpler than ever for anyone to tell their experience online in the modern digital world. As more and more people turn to the internet to share their stories, it’s important to give recognition and shoutouts to the people who are putting in the hard work to create compelling content.
